It will, but I will tell you that the first year was rough.

Did XU and BU pay $2 million as an exit fee to the A10? Did they pay completely on their own (no conference loan)? And does anyone know if the A10 or MVC changed their fees after everyone made their official departure announcements?

Not only did Xavier and Butler pay a $2 million exit fee, they also had to give up any NCAA credits that they earned while in the league. For Butler, it wasn't as much since they were only in 1 year, but Xavier gave up a ton. Fordham, Lossalle, Olean Welding Academy and other flotsam and jetsam of the league wound up making more money from Xavier's success than Xavier did....and they did it by just sitting there and being lousy. All you other schools should be honored and flattered that X would spend so much to associate with you. :D

It's a great country isn't it?

The C7 left a lot of money on the table too. The Big East name wasn't free and as the old adage goes, you gotta spend money to make money. I know the folks in charge at X are happy with the new revenue source. Look at all that money USF got from Big East BBall?

What's the Big East NCAA Revenue sharing model?

Do you guys split everything 10-ways evenly (after NCAA travel expenses reimbursements and the league office taking a sliver, of course)
Is it "you earn it, you keep it" ?
Or is it a percentage formula?

For starters, the A-10 isn’t averaging 2.5 bids per year. It’s averaging 4.5 bids and is two units shy of the Big East (1.7 per school to 1.1 per school).

142 bids in 40 yrs.

So, just our of curiosity, why is everyone opposed to getting more bids & NCAA units by adding two slightly inferior members to the bottom, who absorb conference losses for you and enable your 7th and 8th finishers to go dancing?

Oklahoma president is now on the record saying he still wants the Big 12 to expand. Some are suggesting he's going public to force the hand of the other schools to get to 12 using possible departure of OU to the Big Ten as leverage.

Because diluting a product is never a good idea, especially one that is working as well as the BE.

Slightly inferior? Is UD the best team the A10 has to offer? They would get slaughtered in the BE this year.

Also, would not the dilution put downward pressure on seeding relative to where it is today with the 10 members and the round robin?

Wasn't "diluting" what led the C7 to look for a way out of the old BE.

How'd that work out for the A10 for many years and the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC this year?

Adding "bottom feeders" ruins your league RPI and each team's in the league RPI because playing them drags down your Strength of Schedule. It also stops the wonderful round robin schedule.

Take it from a guy who's school used to be in the A10. Playing mediocre to bad teams may make your final won/loss look more glittery, but if does not help earn extra bids.
