They're super balanced on both sides of the floor. A total threat. If that is all true, which I believe it is, losing Sumner shouldn't be a 31 point loss. They're good enough of a team to lose any one player and still perform. Even if he doesn't get hurt, Nova takes this one, even if by less of a margin. It just wasn't X's day. Just like it wasn't Nova's day against Oklahoma. shouldn't hang their heads or take cheap shots.

I'm not saying the outcome would have been different but there is a big difference between going into a game knowing Sumner won't play and having Sumner knocked unconscious less than 2 minutes in and his teammates watch him leave on a stretcher. There was plenty of talent still on the floor. They were obviously not 100% focused on the game. You can say they need to focus and get back to basketball but we're talking about 18-22 year olds. They're not all as mature as the "adults" on this website!

I think best case for Sumner is that it was only a concussion, the protocol for which means he can't play for at least a week. That means X will be without him for Butler on Saturday and at SJU on Wednesday.

Oh stop. Every fan base has it's share of A-hole's, so you can get off your high horse. I'm willing to bet that 99% of Nova fans are only wishing the best for Sumner. People want to beat a team when they are at full strength, not when one of their best players is off the floor.

If that's a basketball play then they should be wearing shoulder pads. That is excessive, on not one but two players. I get not giving players an easy basket, but that's bullsh-- on novas part. And then to see crap like Archie slapping away our players hands when we try to help him up, just bullsh--.

what are you talking about? Not even that hard of a foul. Just got off balance and fell awkwardly. Sounds like he likely just has a concussion too from reports.

And even if Sumner had played all game I doubt it makes a difference. One guy is not worth 30 points.

Welp, wish Nova had played with half that effort against Oklahoma or Virginia. Nova is the real deal, they just need to find a way to get going even then their 3's aren't falling. Obviously X wasn't themselves today and Mack himself said they never regained their mojo after Sumner was taken out. Now maybe you can attribute that to Nova's game. Who knows. Either way, this game was more about Nova than X. X is still a top 10 team and Nova is proving they are as well.

villanova fans also gave Sumner several standing ovations before and as he was being taken off the court. Not sure what you want the Villanova players to do in that situation - be passive and lower their intensity? To quote Avon: That's not how the game is played.

X could run no semblance of an offense once Sumner went out. Myles is not a PG. X has a lot of weapons, but those weapons aren't necessarily able to create their own offense. They need Sumner back asap.

As an aside, worst officiated game I've seen in a long time. Zero consistency, calling touches and letting charges go. Weird, weird game from the zebras.

Very hard to play a road game In a tough environment when you have a heavy heart like that. Very tough to watch Xavier players trying to help Sumner up initially and then realizing he was out cold, very scary and probably scarred those men for life. Hope he is ok.

Credit Nova for the win and shooting well but damn that injury will be the story.

Wow, now the X fans are acting like Stever with your little digs.

Guess we'll find out come March. I hope they can make a run and legitimize the league.

Like when Scottie Reynolds made a run coast to coast to send Jay wright to the final four?

Xavier has two elite 8's in school history. Jay wright has an elite 8 and a final 4. Hmmm...
