going with the underdog in this one. Kris Dunn and Bentil will their team to victory. Rosey Jones misses 5 crucial FT down the stretch to blow a small lead and the dynamic duo from the Ocean State capitalize.

Dawgs win by 6-8 if Dunham has 15+ points, which has been a struggle lately.
Final shot flip of the coin otherwise...

Curious to see who Dunn guards; have to think it will be Jones?

Gotta agree with KMack here.Love Big Ed but Butler is so tough at Hinkle. Tall order for the Friars but should be another fun game to watch.

Zero disrespect to game 2 on FS1 with Creighton at St. John’s, but too bad FS1 doesn't have this game.
That being said I love the Big East deal with CBSSN and the two game the Big East get on CBS.

Can you explain that? I was kind of wondering the same thing, why FS1 continues to farm out good games to CBSSN. The way I'm understanding it, Fox cut a deal with CBS that puts a few Big East games on CBSSN *plus* a guaranteed two league games on CBS (national broadcast)...right?

That would actually make sense. I always figured it was just FS1 bumbling and thinking a few months ago that Butler v Providence wouldn't be a big game.

I assumed that there was a "pick order" that basically guaranteed that CBSSN didn't always get stuck with the worst game of the week. Something like:
Game #1 (best game of the week or weekend) - FOX/FS1
Game #2 - FS1
Game #3 - FS1 or CBSSN
Game #4 - FS1 or CBSSN
Game #5 (worst game of the week or weekend) - FS1/FSN

FS1/FOX/FSN would get 4 games on the week or weekend and CBSSN would get 1.

you can eliminate all the easy baskets both teams have been getting off transition. in the half court battle, I like Providence's chances with dunn, especially with dunham struggling from outside for Butler.

FS1 makes money on it's 5 year sublicense deal with CBS/CBSSN. CBSSN has the rights up to 30 boardcasts a year. Don't know the picking order, but CBSSN doesn't get leftovers, that's for sure!

These games are picked by networks all the way back in July and completed in August. Nobody thought on Dec. 31, that the Providence at Butler game would pit the #12 and #9 ranked teams. Can't blame FS1 if they didn't protect this game.

CBSSN has made a great living for it's network with sublicensing deal with ESPN and FOX with leagues like the Big East, AAC, Atlantic 10, Mountain West, MAC, MVC.

I do enjoy another network and another set of announcers covering the Big East as well in CBSSN.
