There have been two camps on the depaul debate. You have kept blaming the kids. I believe that the kids are good players and deserve a decent coach.

I watch every game in-person. I know what each player's strengths and weaknesses are.

Lets just look at high school rankings and you can see what the professionals thought of the kids' talent levels.

2015:

Elijah Cain 3 star
Oumar Barry 3 star
Develle Phillips 3 star
Fred Scott Unrated

2014:

Darrick Wood unrated JC
Rashaun Stimage unrated JC
AAron Simpson unrated JC

2013:

BGJ 4star top 100
RJ Curington 3 star
Thomas Hamilton Jr 2star
Forest Robinson Unrated
Greg Sequele Unrated

Throw in the Myke Henry transfer who was a four star top 100 that leaves them with only two guys who were good enough to play on any team in the country. That's not enough raw talent to carry them and not enough time to coach up those who don't have that raw talent.

Stimage and Simpson were considered among Illinois best in 2012 (along with Fred Van Vleet and Steve Taylor formally of Marquette). 2012 was a weak year in Illinois.
Please stop thinking this team is/was lacking of talent; it is there. How many 4 and 5 stars does Butler have? About the same as DePaul.

the DePaul team that went 0-18 in conference? 1 5 star in Mac Koshwal, 2 4 stars in Dar Tucker and Will Walker. So by your standard, that is 3 guys who were good enough to play on any team. My point? Rankings are flawed when determining talent.

So apparently my opinion that the kids on the depaul team are pretty good, as we saw last night, has caused people to cry to the moderators that I am belittling them. And apparently the big hand holding circle here does not allow for opinions that go against the norm so the admin has asked me to stop belittling the players on depaul (of which I have done the exact opposite, I have stood up for the players while you guys try to claim they suck).

So the board mantra is now that Dave Leitao is awesome and the kids on his team suck, because mubxer and Omaha guy and demonLS cry to the mods about anyone who disagree. So I guess that is the new reality on this board. We can bash the kids on depaul, but not the coach.

I think it was more the Stever Effect. Make your point once or twice, people disagree, get mad, and move on. Make the same exact point an additional 15 times, and a tornado starts.

dude he's had 12 games. He's 6-6 with the 6th best RPI in the conference right now. 0 losses to teams behind them in the RPI. #81 SOS so far. Do you need to be reminded where DePaul was this time last year? RPI was 270, they were 6-7 with 6 straight losses. Do you think the kids just magically got better overnight?

Woah i don't know who reported you but it wasn't me. I'll call you out myself if I feel it's deserved I don't need a mod to do it for me. I don't know you live your life daily make assumptions about who's wronged you but it can't have lead to a very fulfilling life if you do.

I'll own up to it Ball, I'm one of the people who reported posts in that thread, one of my own included. I think I cited like 5 different posts by 5 different posters(stever, you, me, demonLS, and someone else). It was in no way related to anything about DePaul or their players, it was your "mid-west minor league cities" comment that turned(or was well on it's way of) that thread into off topic city vs. city flame fest. I don't care about your feelings on DePaul, I and many others on here, I suspect, share some/most of them. Now, how often and how vociferously you state them is a different matter entirely, but that's not what or why I flagged posts on that other thread.
