saw ad for opening day of the Big East season.....

Seton Hall @ Marquette, followed by Georgetown @ DePaul.

kind of surprised/disappointed that they didn't have those games on NYE, and the Xavier/Villanova, Providence/Butler games on the 30th.

You're disappointed with the conference abd it's tv partner? Get out! I never thought someone so opptimistic would EVER be disappointed with the big east. Hahahaha

I would have preferred for the bigger games to be on the 30th in prime time against no football competition. Seton Hall/Marquette, Georgetown/DePaul vs Xavier/Villanova, Providence/Butler. It's not even remotely close....

Maybe the love affair with NYE games is that some of us don't care about the football games and want to watch hoops instead of football on a day off?

The conference has tons of inventory to pump the higher rated games out. And at the start of the season nobody knew that Butler v. PC would feature two top ten teams. Just need to schedule the games wherever they fit. Can't worry about going up against American Idol or whatever.

They can't tonight. There is two games in the Big East on FS2.

They can't tonight. There is two games in the Big East on FS2.

The question though is which one is more important to the long term health of FS2? Southern Utah/Butler, or airing a tournament that is important to get their feet in the Exempt tournament door. (they could still have aired Seton Hall/USF). FS1/2 needs to get their foot in that exempt tournament door big time.
