Agree, but that will happen in all of the top conferences.

not totally. double round robin here/big 12 forces everyone to see each other 2x. Some conferences top teams only see each other once- so 1 of the teams has a fewer loss than they would have in here.

The conference portion of the season will be rugged and the frontrunners are pitted against one another early, which may give the 2nd tier teams (6-8) a chance to sneak up the ladder a bit (6-Creighton, 7-Marquette, 8-Seton Hall). One of the 2nd tier teams will rise into the top 25-30 based on in conference wins over the top tier. I'm thinking Creighton (of course). ;)

Don't you dare ever change gtmo. I love your optimism. That said, CU has as good a shot as anyone to wind up in that 5 spot. Best of luck to all in conference play until you play MU.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

It wouldn't be fair, but sometimes i wish each conference got a set amount of bids each year, EPL/ Champions League style with certain benchmarks that had to be met, and the 10 of us could just fight it out for those spots.

The ACC defectors are feeling nostalgic and the AAC mid majors are feeling very mid majorish compared to us. The only 2 legitimately bad teams this year are SJ and DePaul. Unreal. I thought this would be a down year for the Big East, but man have the teams shut me up and I love it. This is especially great publicity for Butler, PC, Xavier. They are all getting their well-earned time in the sun. Hopefully it pays dividends recruiting! I have total faith it will.

Wow I never thought YOU of all people would be pessimistic!

McDermott deserves Coach of the Year in all of college basketball if Creighton finishes in the top 30.

WEEK 8:
AP:
6. Xavier
9. Butler
12. Providence
16. Villanova

Coaches:
6. Xavier
10. Butler
13. Providence
16. Villanova

It's unfortunate that Providence dropped in the AP. It makes sense though. Iowa State and UK had big wins last week.

Providence won at UMass by 24.
Iowa State jumps Providence by winning at Cincinnati.
Cincinnati stays locked at 22 after losing at home to Iowa State.
Cincinnati actually gained 2 spots the other week after losing to Xavier.

Cincinnati has beaten who, VCU and George Washington.
GW was exposed by DePaul.
VCU has no good wins.

Cincinnati keeps losing and just refuses to leave the Top-25.
Seriously, what's the deal with Cincinnati...?
What has to f--kin happen for these guys to drop?
WTF??? RPI at 70. Just go the F away. Nobody wants to look at you anymore.
So this week PC if we lose at Butler and beat St John's should expect to jump back to #10 by the Bearcat Formula.

These 3 teams have beaten no one:
Cincinnati.
Pitt.
Louisville.

You get the benefit of the doubt when you play teams. GW even with the DePaul game is #27. 3 losses for Cincy by 14 points against top 10 teams. You play top 10 teams close like that- you aren't going to drop much(especially with a lot of other teams at the bottom of the top 25 keep on losing).

Why did PC drop and Iowa St pass them?

UMass is 6-5. lost to UCF and Florida Gulf Coast. They are awful. 2-5 last 7 games. A win over them means pretty much nothing. Last week PC was ahead of Iowa St by 4 votes. Pretty damn easy to see why voters would be impressed with Iowa St there.
