I could be mistaken, but I believe this is the first time Butler has reached a single-digit ranking before the start of conference play. They got to 10th in 2009-2010, the year of the first Final Four (preseason 10th).

3 in the top 10 and Nova's not one of them, BE is going to be dog eat dog this year. Feels like old times(maybe not old, more like familiar). BTW, not that it matters a whole lot, but Nova dropping 5 spots for a close loss @ top 5 Virginia? Seems a bit harsh, but no biggie. There goes that 41 weeks consecutive in the top 15 streak out the window.

That's awesome.

Earlier this year I was saying we needed more top 10 presence, and this year we got it.

Last year we had 80% of our league ranked at some point. That's incredible.

This year we have had 40% of our team hit the top 10 at some point. That's just as incredible.

Really hope you guys take care of business tonight. We'll try and do our part and not completely lay an egg against Southern Utah or IUPUI.

Hopefully we'll get a top 10 matchup in Hinkle on NYE. Don't think that's ever happened. :D

I believe you are correct. They made it to 9th in 2012-2013 but that wasn't until late January and then they lost at LaSalle.

That would be fantastic. I'm nervous as hell about this one. It's like a final hurdle to get to BE play and we might not have Dunn.

looks like what happened was you had 3 teams that were behind Nova now are in the top 10- Arizona, Butler, and Providence. Then Miami and Louisville passed Nova as well. The others ahead of Nova outside the top 10- Iowa St, Kentucky, Purdue, and Duke were already ahead of Nova. Nova should move up 1 spot this week- ahead of the loser of Louisville/Kentucky.

This is amazing. So proud of all the teams. They said this would never happen. We are making AAC/ACC fans cry right now. The ACC defectors are feeling nostalgic and the AAC mid majors are feeling very mid majorish compared to us. The only 2 legitimately bad teams this year are SJ and DePaul. Unreal. I thought this would be a down year for the Big East, but man have the teams shut me up and I love it. This is especially great publicity for Butler, PC, Xavier. They are all getting their well-earned time in the sun. Hopefully it pays dividends recruiting! I have total faith it will.

A stat I saw recently was that UConn, despite their 2 national titles, has not been ranking in the AP top 10 since 2009?

Has the Conference of Americans ever had a top 10 team (not counting Louisville in their one year reluctant over night stay)?
