If the Hoyas rip apart their next three upcoming teams... Can they be ranked by Dec 31st?

It would be fantastic to have 5/10 Big East ranked in the Top 25.

I doubt it, they'd need a lot of help, but that's not really too important. More than getting a 5th team into the polls before conference play, we need the 4 already in their to avoid slip-ups and climb as high as possible. That way they could each afford multiple losses to middle of the pack big east schools, such as Georgetown, without dropping out. If that works out, getting a 5th team in seems pretty reasonable.

Meh, X should really be ahead of Virginia and Purdue. Hopefully my BEAST brethren can right that wrong this week.

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but West Virginia, Florida and Pittsburgh are all good wins. All three are tournament teams in Bracketology.

Purdue's SOS is much lower than Xavier's, but Virginia's is similar.

Agree to disagree. Florida is probably NIT and Pittsburgh hasn't beaten anybody. WV is a good win but Virginia also lost to GW. Its still early and there aren't a lot of metrics so I am not saying X is definitively better than either. But their results thus far have been.

@GW is not a bad loss IMO.

Florida and Pittsburgh are top 30 in KenPom. Both teams lack a signature win, however.

Top 5 teams this week should be Michigan State, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Xavier and Purdue. Rank them anyway you want to. Tie them all at #1. All undefeated. Why penalize these teams for a low initial projected ranking? Results should dictate rankings.

X may get into single digits with the Duke loss.
