Where do you get the FOX numbers? I've been looking, but don't know where to find it. Also, 0.5 is decent, right, for Xavier - UC? How does that compare to last year's FOX broadcasts?

So, based on the number of TV households in 2013 (I couldn't find the estimate for this year), the .5 rating for the UC-XU game means there were about 580,000 households watching the game. That's not too shabby.

I love that site, but they don't usually have the weekend broadcast numbers. I even tweeted them about the Shootout, but they didn't have the numbers.

There are two articles one for Saturday Dec 12 and the second for Sunday, Dec 13 on my view. The Heisman Award on ESPN got 3 MM viewers on Saturday. Best FS1 show was some UFC stuff, which I never watch. Sunday was all about ESPN NFL football programs. St. John's v Cuse hoops pretty much tied with Houston v LSU on Sunday. This is only cable sports.

Right, those are only the cable numbers. This thread is the only place I've seen a number for Xavier - UC. By the way, if I'm not mistaken, a 0.5 rating means ~1 million viewers.

Ratings are typically for households. If you assume two viewers per household, you may be close. The rating also apparently now includes internet viewing.

Ratings/share and total viewers

The most commonly cited Nielsen results are reported in two measurements: ratings points and share, usually reported as: "ratings points/share". As of 2013, there were an estimated 115.6 million television households in the United States, up 1.2% from the previous year because of the inclusion of televisions that receive content over the Internet. A single national ratings point represents 1% of the total number, or 1,156,000 households for the 2013–14 season. Nielsen re-estimates the number of television-equipped households each August for the upcoming television season.
