I was surprised by that too seeing as how he might lose his starting spot soon. haha

It is a great recruiting tool. Tell Alkins that that could be him next year if he goes to SJU.

you take out the Michigan/Utah game, and it's only 547k viewers per game.

Fox has some work to do with FS1 for football. Has a lot of work actually.

You can't just cherry pick numbers. That being said what work would you like them to do?

FOX was up 12% and in 2016, FOX gets the #1 each week on the Big 12.

Nothing. Keep doing exactly what they are doing, it just takes time. Ignore the freak idiot psycho, he's a troll and a downer for all that's awesome with the Big East. Prolly got dead people buried in his back yard. Seriously demented guy to be that passively aggressive compulsive. Morbidly obese? Bedridden? Is he in Federal Prison? Bernie Madoff? Is that you?

Thank you for your "consolidating accounting" point of view. stever20 may not understand that cut at this. By definition, Fox knows which games it takes to the main network.

That's great for Big Fox. But, that's not exactly helping FS1 out much now is it? To have all but 1 game be down by 17% is pretty remarkable.

The question becomes, are the Big 12 and Pac 12 limiting the quality of games that are going to FS1? With football ratings generally speaking up this year, that seems to be a fairly decent possibility.

Again, I ask the question since you didn't answer it. You said "Fox has some work to do with FS1 for football. Has a lot of work actually."

What would you like FS1 to do?

My answer is that in the contact FS1 has with the Big 12 from 2011 to 2015, is to get more a volume of games than better games in the Big 12 in that contact. The contact changes a bit in 2016. The Big 12 & Pac-12 are not strong leagues that turns the needle for a few schools like USC, Oregon, Oklahoma & Texas it does. To me there is nothing much you can do when you have games like Kansas at Iowa State on versus games on CBS and ABC in the mid-day.

Maybe FS1 should push more to get Thursday & Friday night games from the Big 12 & Pac-12.

It's an interesting thing with the Big 12. They'll get better games in 2016, but ESPN will be getting more of the volume. Also, just because Fox gets 1st choice that those top games are going to magically appear on FS1.

I think there's 2 issues with FS1 and neither are easy fixes....
1st off you have the UFC issue. Take November. 1st 3 weeks in November, they didn't air at least 1 slot at night because of the UFC. Given the ratings the UFC brings year wide, tough to see them changing that. UFC is why they don't have the space to get all of the Big Ten(which would be the ultimate salvation for FS1).
2nd off you have the games that FS1 gets. taking from the other site: FS1 had Oregon once, Stanford twice (vs. Oregon State and Central Florida), Utah once, UCLA once (vs. BYU) and no games with USC. With the Big 12, FS1 had one Oklahoma game and one Texas game, two Baylor games (vs. KU and KSU), three TCU games (one of them vs. an FCS team and another against KU). Unless the games on FS1 change dramatically, it's going to be really tough for the network to improve.

The schools don't really want the Thursday(especially now with the NFL) or Friday night games.

So stever's argument is that fs1 only gets crap football games. But at the same time the are getting 600k viewers in average. Looks like fs1 is right on rack.

And I love when Stever uses the average game ratings to rip the channel. Yeah, because when the depaul v central chicago state game only pulls a few viewers and drags down the ratings it shows fs1 sucks.

Fox sports is such a better media partner than espn. It's not even funny at this point.

Side note Stever on the Thursday games. It's in the contact for the Big 12 and Pac-12 to have a least 4 each on Thursday's. So, I'm guessing they do want it. The contact was made well before TNF on CBS.

sorry- but average ratings for the entire season HELPS FS1 with football.

The quality of games wasn't much different this year vs last year, and outside of the Michigan/Utah game, FS1 was down by 17%. That game was the outlier....

And to say having average ratings go down proves that FS1 is right on track, is just stupid.
