Lets not get too crazy here. We are playing well, but there is still room to improve. I think we are good enough to challenge Nova for the title, but we are not the front runners yet. Simply put Jay Wright is a great coach, and Villanova has a lot of talent. Until someone beats them, Villanova is the team to beat. Right now I would be happy if we split the two games this year, and I bet you would be too.

Alright alright, mea culpa. I am still sugar high from this weekend. You have no idea what a relief it is to be free of Dayton trolls for the foreseeable future.

Kind of reminds me of the Dayton fans sticking out their chest, announcing an impending beat-down prior to their game with you guys. I believe you guys refer to them as your "little brothers." Hmmm... Be careful what you wish for; your BE big brother is waiting.

Help me with something DudeA, who is the only team X hasn't beaten yet in the nBE? Maybe they should start with just squeaking out a win before thinking about "wiping the floor," of a team they haven't beaten yet.

Also not sure if you've noticed but Nova is winning its games by an average of 24+ pts / game, and have yet to hit their stride.

Please note that only one Xavier fan has suggested that Xavier would dominate Villanova this season. I agree that the Muskies have a lot of catching up to do to match the Wildcats' level of domination over any other Big East team, much less Villanova!

1. Villanova/Xavier (tie - I am taking the politically correct option here!)
3. Butler
4. Providence (Much higher than I expected before the season)
5. Georgetown
6. Creighton
7. Marquette
8. Seton Hall
9. St Johns
10. DePaul

I've been conditioned to respect "flagship" status and I'm not going to turn into a hypocrite now:

1. Villanova
2. Xavier

3. Butler
4. Providence
5. Georgetown
6. Creighton

7. Marquette
8. Seton Hall
9. St Johns
10. DePaul

I would love to beat Nova just ONCE! They have torched Xavier since we joined the BE. I have all the respect in the world for Nova.

I like this Xavier team and hope this year we can actually give them a game.

Ditto. X has had a nice start and I do think Mack is gaining on 'Nova, actually trying to emulate 'Nova with a team that can rebound, play D, shoot and is very quick. We started at the bottom of the mountain but we're getting there.

I will echo my fellow Nova fans by saying that we'd love to see X be a Top 15 or even Top 10 team. This conf consistently needs multiple great teams to be successful. We need a few Top 4 seeds in March to increase our realistic chances at multiple E8/F4 teams. And if we can get 4-5 teams into the RPI top 25 that will be huge for BE bubble teams in need of signature win opportunities. That was the blue print of the oBE and I am confident the current BE can follow suit.

And I also believe both teams and fan bases are circling 12/30 on their calendars. ;)
Go Nova!

Not sure how anyone has Butler over PC based on who they have played to date. This has to be more about preseason rankings then the product on the floor so far.
