I didn't know just how God-awful the bottom half of the AAC was. I knew it was bad, but had no idea just how bad. And frankly I don't think the top half is strong enough to keep their RPI's where they are now after repeatedly playing the bottom half teams. So thankful to be in a conference where, in a year with a bunch of young teams, our worst loss in conference could be 131 DePaul. Thank you, Big East!

I like the fact that Stever has calmed down about VCU now that Shaka is gone. VCU still must add for the BE stever?

Except in the RPI right now, DePaul is #191, not #131. St John's is #155.

It's still a bit early though(Marquette is #161 right now).

I still would add them. I think VCU is going to be more dangerous now quite frankly. Look at them vs Duke and Wisconsin last weekend. MUCH more competitive than before.

It's a mid major conference. Most mid major conferences have bottom-halves made up of sub-200s programs. It's just what the AAC, it has much more in common with something like the WCC than any of the higher level conferences.

really WCC?
AAC- 6 top 76 schools.
WCC- 3 top 100 scools
AAC- 3 sub 200 schools.
WCC- 4 sub 200 schools

The AAC and A10 are at worst tweener conferences. look at Ken Pom conference ranks....
B12 .8235
ACC .8130
BE .7711
B10 .7681
P12 .7486
SEC .7429
AAC .6670
A10 .6664
MWC .5634
MVC .5469
WCC .5378
MAC .5249

Yes, the WCC. But who cares? Its a garbage league that no one on here cares about enough to discuss. It's not relevant.

We don't care about Conference USA either, which is a reasonable proxy of where that league is going long term. So you can probably table interjecting South Florida or whatever random directional they have at the time, whenever that happens.

Sorry but a league that has Cincy, UConn, Temple, Memphis- is going to be way more than CUSA(which is a 1 bid 15 seed conference). You don't have to be in a power conference to be a power team. And UConn, Cincy, Temple, and Memphis just aren't going anywhere. Until/if the league gets raided, they are absolutely a tweener conference. UConn has a top 5 class coming in next year.

That Dayton thrashing must have him on suicide watch.

He's not a Dayton fan. He's been doing this shtick from before the old Big East broke up.

I think he's either a UConn or Cincinnati fan....

The problem with the Conference of Americans is not just in the court, but the georgraphic and institutional make up of the schools. The only things this collection of schools have in common are that all except uconn are third rate commuter colleges with limited funding and huge expenses. It's a recipe for disaster.

I feel bad for uconn. They really don't belong in that hot mess of a conference. They should drop football and come back to the big east.
