They are an above average team in an above average league, we are a good team (trying to be humble) in a great league. We should be thankful for what we have going for us, without having to build us up by putting them down.

Let's just take care of business today and get the W.

Completely agree.

X should win on paper and I believe is truly the better team, but Dayton has enough talent, is very well coached, and has the biggest fan contingent in Orlando.

Nice opportunity for another solid Big East win, but far from given.

Long story short with Dayton fans. Unfortunately its considered a "dead" city economically. The only thing going for the city is the University. You are going to get a tremendous amount of fans that are uneducated, that are Dayton natives that have lived there their whole lives, and a substantially large blue collar community make up the majority of their fan base. John Chaney has called going their "going to the sticks". Its been said of Dayton grads "Nobody stays in Dayton" because the jobs are just not there. And that's factually true.

Dayton Basketball is the end all be all in that city essentially because there is nothing else. Thats why you get the huge followings to these tournaments, or any other game for that matter.

AND THE THING IS, YOU WOULD WANT TO ROOT FOR A TEAM LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!. Small town, blue collar, but the fans are the largest grouping of delusional, ignorant douchebags you can possibly imagine. A psychologist would have a field day with this group. I thought we were finally rid of them when we received the privilege of joining our current conference.

Someone that does not have the mental capacity or the willingness to see a situation/argument from multiple perspectives/angles i.e. "transference of perspective" is the definition of ignorant to me. Also known as a Dayton fan.

This xu fan thinks that by spewing this rant that has no basis in fact elevates his team. All one has to do is just start you reading with David McCullough the Wright Brothers best seller then move on to read up on the Dayton peace accords then actually speak to someone who lives in the Dayton metro area. Then compare ud to xu at any academic metric and you quickly realize this guy intellectual equivancy to Donald Trump

I am going to interject at this point and ask that conversations on XU-UD today focus on basketball. I know it's an important game for many reasons, but I'd like to keep things civil.

Thanks-

Well, like him or hate him, Donald Trump has done very well for himself. And I believe he started out at Fordham and may have finished at PENN.

You're the intellectually challenged one. Xavier has programs in the Williams College of Business that are nationally ranked, including having one of the Top 10 Best Master’s Programs in Healthcare Administration in the nation.

Beyond showing your ass on this one, you need to keep in mind that this is a Big East message board. You're certainly welcome to post here if you can manage to keep it constructive, but you have ZERO standing here. That means keeping your jealousy of Xavier in check. Tomorrow is not just another day in the office for Dayton. UD IS A MID-major that got left behind for very good reasons, and it's an opportunity for the Flyers to reengage a hated (old) rival. Just another day at the office. Sure it is.

I just hope they provide extra security to Christi Mack and her kids from the last time we met:

Maybe they should stay in the hotel.

In all seriousness, Dayton is probably the best team we have faced all year. Archie had truly flipped that program around and built a hell of a team. They do the pack line defense like Mack but they put much more emphasis on getting touched and deflections a la VCU. Their offense seems very fluid and they are very athletic.

X will need their best to win this one.

Michigan might be better, but we matched up really well against them. I'm glad we're playing Dayton, because really what I care about is playing good teams. Monmouth looks a lot better than preseason predictions and I would have been fine facing them too, but Dayton was a better option. If we beat them, we will have three top 50 road/neutral wins before the end of November.
