I'm only using the F5 in this thread. That's our competition.

Not for NCAA bids. The A10 and AAC are absolutely our competition for NCAA spots.

It's idiotic to say for instance that the St John's win over Rutgers is more important than the Butler win over Temple.

stever, why not start your own thread where you can make the competition comparisons you want? This thread was pretty clearly labeled. No one forced you to post here. And if you will notice, no one ever seems to support you. Why junk up this thread? Why not stay on topic?

There's 8 conferences that have really split away from the others.. F5, AAC, A10, and BE....

right now those standings-
A10 8-2
ACC 6-3
P12 5-3
BE 7-5
B10 5-7
B12 3-5
AAC 2-6
SEC 2-7

Not sure what a stever's numbers represent, but I would imagine that if the big east were 2-6 at something he would not be praising the conference the way he is praising the Conference of Americans...

As someone who has posted here since the beginning (under username adoraz11), I post here a lot less in part because of Stever. He derails threads with ridiculous arguments.

Using Stever's own analysis, Big East is #1 in conference RPI.

Of course, Stever doesn't mention this and only the standings. What he also doesn't mention is that most of Big East's games vs the Football 5 (+A10 and AAC, which don't belong as of now) have been against the Big 10, which is of course a lot tougher than your average AAC, A10, SEC, P12 school.

Seriously, what is the point of coming into this thread and trying to downgrade the Big East while praising the A10? A10 and AAC had awful years last year. The A10 has gotten off to a great start this year but they have mostly beaten the lower tier Football 5 (+AAC) schools.

We are not competing against the A10 because when schools from that conference do well we pluck them. We actually want the A10 to do well. The AAC is a forced marriage and the only teams worth mentioning in that conference are trying to get out. Believe they sent 2 schools to the tournament last year and didn't win any games. Big East's competition is the Football 5 and even if you don't feel that way too bad because that's what this thread is about.

This is all we need to do with stever - remind him that his is a conference that is not valued by its key members. How hard it must be to cheer for a conference where the key members of it want out of it.

The A10 was a great platform for Xavier, but it's in the rear view mirror now. This is about how the BE performs vis-a-vis the Power5.

This is simply a running thread for our head to head match-ups with the F5. it does not indicate the importance of individual games. For years our football colleagues said we could not survive or compete with them on our own. If anyone wants to do an A10 thread or a Sun Belt thread that would be great. This will be us vs. F5.
