Who Is Your Schools Most Hated Rival In/Out of Conference?

Okay for you new guys let me ask you this then since you haven't been with the rest of us yet to have a rival in conference. Who would you like to see become your rival moving forward?

Georgetown or Nova.

Xavier is kinda used to being a flagship, and those two substantial ships are presently in our way.

Having noted that, I don't see this thing ever achieving hatred status. We're all too similar to one another and in a very real sense we're a band of brothers. We're up against the Power 5 Conferences, and we otherwise have some number of fans of schools who would love to join our little club, but who otherwise will want us to fail big time out of jealousy of how we launched and how we're currently tracking.

Wisconsin. It used to be Notre Dame in conference... Now that they're gone I don't think I really hate anyone. I hate Nova and Gtown because they're the only other schools I feel are on our level as far as overall basketball success but I respect them as other standards bearers. I'd like to hate DePaul because they're right down 94 and there's the history but I actually pity them. I think creighton is trying to push for a rivalry with us so I guess them?

IMO DePaul is probably the only real possibility as a true heated BE rival for MU given what we know today. Fans of sports teams in Milwaukee and Chicago already don't get along too well and with the high number of kids coming up I94 from Chicago to attend Marquette it's a natural. I have little hope though that DePaul will be able to get it together in the next decade, if ever, to become a competitor in the Big East. Time will tell.

I miss playing ND, their fan base makes it so easy to hate them.

Wisconsin makes my blood boil. Most of their fans are the perfect combination of confident and stupid. Scary combo.

It must be a Big 10 thing. Ohio State fans are also a combination of over confident and aggressively stupid.

Really? I've never met any other fellow BU fans who would pick Creighton as our biggest conference rival. Xavier is the clear front-runner followed by Marquette.

Yea I agree, plus we're viewed as almost as snobby as Notre Dame fans down here (Chicago) so they aren't our biggest fans.

Notre Dame made sense because we were both always good dugger phelps was a d bag to us and still is when he can be because he was jealous of Al.

I see my Johnnies and X turing into rivals. Something about us and teams from Cincy, usually hard fought games. In 12 years of playing teams from Cincy we have 1 game up on the Bearcats and we're 2-2 against X.

Familiarity breeds contempt. I think we're going to see some unexpected rivalries and our mid-western friends will find they hate some of us east coasters more than their fellow midwesterners.

Butler-GTown has been a hard fought series since starting up in the conference. 5 games over 2 years.

Can't really say there's anyone in conference that I hate. If I had to pick someone, I guess I'd go with Villanova since they've owned SHU for so long (only Big East team the Pirates never beat in my 4 years there- and that was in the old conference.


For OOC, the natural choice is Rutgers, not because they've done anything to make us hate them recently but just because they're in state. Syracuse is up there too because their fans are just the worst.
