Looking forward to seeing Henry next season and what he can bring to the table. We needed all the scoring we could add after last season. I have Traci starting a PG because I know the coaching staff views Duane as more of a 2-guard, and there really aren't any other viable options to start at the point (Haanif Cheatham possibly). I know we are still on the lookout for one, maybe two, graduate transfers.

It seems as though there are going to be some teams with trees next year. PC. Marq., XU. Hoping Ochefu can stay out of foul trouble or we may have some problems with some of that length. Of course on the defensive end you guys will have to chase all of our little guys around. :D

I hope they get some more true depth at the PG spot. I would hate to have all that potential one the front line go to waste. This could be a special team.

Jordan PG
M'Vouika SG (Some coll experience, so him over Ellison.)
Johnson SF
Williams PF
Obekpa C

If Mussina/Lovett commit then slide Jordan to the SG.

Tyler Lewis
Kellen Dunham
Roosevelt Jones
Andrew Chrabascz

The fifth slot will go to Kelan Martin or Tyler Wideman at the start of the season. Jackson Davis or Nate Fowler might get the nod during the later part of the season.

PG: Maurice Watson Jr. (5-10)
SG: James Milliken (6-2)
SF: Cole Huff (6-8)
PF: Toby Hegner (6-10)
C: Geoff Groselle (7-0)

(edited your post to add heights)

I like that starting lineup and I think that is what we will end up with. That lineup puts legitimate post height on the floor, along with 3 shooters, a dynamic, creative point and a 7-foot post option who shot 63% in BE play last year when he finally got healthy. Big question is where Huff ends up playing. Some stories said he left Nevada because he didn't want to be a post player and wanted to play the 3, but he's an undeniable matchup problem at the 4. He's 6-8, can post a bit and can drive a bit, but can also shoot 40% from 3. If we start Huff at the 4 that shifts everyone else around and creates an audition to see who starts at the 3 with the favorite likely Harrell (6-8, RS Frosh).

Harrell 6-8 SF, Zierden 6-2 SG/PG, Hanson 6-9 C are the bench guys who were on the roster last year and who will be joined by 4 freshman all of whom could play a role. In general, Coach Mac has a lot of flexibility on the roster this year. Huff can play the 3 or the 4. I think Hegner will be able to play the 4 and the 5 (a 3 pt shooting 5 at 6-10), Milliken can play a bit of the 3. Every one of the incoming Freshman can play and defend multiple positions. Mac can go tall or short depending on who we are playing. Biggest upgrade over last year is that he should have more than enough shooters to always have 2 or 3 on the floor to keep spacing honest on the D.

I think Fischer, Ellenson, Wilson, and Carter are locked in as starters. I'm speculating here but i bet the last starting position goes to someone who is not on the roster yet.

Sooo. Come on in, the water's fine. Been a heck of an off'season thus far for the BE. Plenty of action to go around. Players bailing (to the NBA, transfering, Grad transfers, etc.) at several schools. Lot's of new transfers coming in, highly ranked frosh classes coming in, plenty of change and new folks to try and blend in and acclimate in short order. Should be fun to watch to see which staffs do the better job of cobbling all these new folks into a solid team.

So much for most of the preseason predictions, most of which will not hold water now. I, for one, am looking forward to the upcoming season and the inherent conference battles. It looks as though it will be a free-for-all complete with darkhorses, upsets, implosions by the favorites, chemistry meltdowns, a general Mel Gibsonesque post-apocalyptic Mad Max of a season. yeah.
