Tariq Owens, a 6'8" power forward, has asked out of Tennessee and will be visiting St. John's. He was a 3-star recruit out of St. Vincent Pallotti in Laurel, MD a year ago

one thing that is pretty interesting is how many transfers are choosing non P5 schools...
Creighton got one from Kansas St(and I thought another one at least)
UConn got a big one from Cornell
Memphis got one from Alabama
and USF got one from Gonzaga
St John's got one from Tennessee
UMass got one from Texas A&M

Well, the P5 thing is more of a football thing.

There are over 400 players who have indicated they will transfer, and many more to come. Six isn't a very big number.

Right- but 3 of the top 6 are going to non P5 schools. A 4th is in the top 25. And some of the others in the top 25 have only non P5 schools on their list.

There are also 65 P5 schools and 286 non P5. Odds are very good the non-P5's will pick up more P5 transfers than P5 schools retain. Of the 400 transfers listed, there are only about 15 to 20 to get remotely excited about. The two coming to Butler are depth guys. The Rotnei Clark's of the BB world don't come around very often.

Right but of the top 6- 3 are going to non P5 schools. A 4th was going to Long Beach St who was in the top 15(#14 if memory serves me right). So of those 15-20- at least 4 are going to non P5 schools- and probably more.

Eric Paschall will transfer from Fordham to Villanova. Kid averaged about 16 points a game last year and was the A-10's rookie of the year. Legit pickup by Jay Wright and staff.

So now 4 of the top 10 going to non P5 schools, and 5 of the top 14. P5 only has 1 of the top 10 and like 3 of the top 25.
