Actually it's not a joke at all. Fox NEEDS exposure. The Big East doesn't.
Big East financing is set for the next decade. Guaranteed. If Fox wants to pay it's bills, they NEED to increase viewership. They're the ones with the motivation to make something happen now. The Big East can afford to wait 10 years.
Meanwhile Big East fans have somewhere to go to watch their games. Or they can buy tickets and watch the games in person. Right now the league doesn't have a problem. Fox does.

Yeah, I think there is some sort of agreement for the MLS games. FS1 advertises the doubleheaders on Sunday which includes the ESPN game.
