Jon Harris was named coach at Southern Illinois Edwardsville. Harris, a graduate of Edwardsville High, is currently an assistant at Cal.

-VCU has already committee to pay in full Men's and Women's basketball.

- VCU countered Texas' offer with a raise for Shaka to $2.5 million a year.

Wow that's awful in light of what Wichita did with Marshall(3.4 million).

Awful? VCU doesn't have the billionaire Koch brothers who stamp their names on everything in Wichita.

FYI that 2.5 mm/year would tie him for 12th highest paid coach (along with Jay Wright, John Beilein and Travis Ford). That's not too bad for a school who's played hoops for only 50 years.

Right. When Texas wants their man, there's no one who can outbid them.

Love this move. SIUE will be good very soon. They had to move on from Forrester, who was a Crews player...so that's most of why his record sucked.

I think the move that VCU absolutely had to do. Won't have to build new relationships as he was there when a lot of those guys were there.

Wade to VCU should do the trick and keep that program headed in the right direction, he's a solid coach.

VCU's program will show it is bigger than Shaka Smart. They will be fine.

Just remember when Steven's left Butler in 2013. "The sky is falling." It didn't.

You could make the case that VCU is in even better shape than Butler because the guy coming in after Smart now has head coaching experience, something Miller didn't have replacing Stevens.
