Really? Basing a team's quality on one game tells you absolutely nothing.
Villanova won a better conference than NC State's or Cincy's. They had more quality wins than NC State or Cincy. They are rated higher in the RPI, KenPom, and Sagarin ratings than NC State or Cincy. I could keep going, but what is the point?

Do we even know if those Villanova games took place? If no one watched, did it happen? The last two times I saw Villanova play they were getting taken out in the second round by much lower seeds.

So you're pleading ignorance? Because that defense has never worked.
Truth is those games happened. You can't wipe them away, even if they didn't attract viewers.

Glad to hear that Mick Cronin is back in good health and will coach next year.

Totally agree.

Won't be shocked if he loses an associate coach- the guy who took over this year did a really nice job I thought with them this season.

Sounds like he is a top candidate for the Northern Kentucky job. I think that would be a good fit for him.

It is official now! Go Cats and love live the Hinkle Field House water fountains!!!

Cincinnati and Butler will begin a home-and-home series next season with the first game being played at Fifth Third Arena, sources told CBSSports.com on Wednesday. The second game in the series will be played at Hinkle Fieldhouse during the 2016-17 season.

Cincinnati finished 23-11 this past season and lost in the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament to Kentucky. The Bearcats return all five starters and a Top 100 recruit in 6-6 wing Jacob Evans.

Butler meanwhile, also finished 23-11 this past year and fell to Notre Dame in the Round of 32. The Bulldogs return two All-Big East players in Roosevelt Jones and Kellen Dunham while adding NC State transfer Tyler Lewis.

Bounce,

I have heard that the U. of Cincinnati is looking to build a new basketball arena. Where will it be and how big? On campus or elsewhere? I took my masters from UC but rarely get up to Clifton anymore. A new basketball arena downtown with a 20K or more seating might entice an NBA franchise or NHL franchise. Would be a great location for the Cross-town classic and perhaps XU and UC doubleheaders in the OOC.

Please note despite the fact that I am an XU grad and fan I do not have anything against UC and would like to see both programs succeed and prosper. X is pretty much doing that now and UC is on it's way especially if they get a new arena.

Well currently the city of Cincinnati is missing out on a lot of revenue by not having a state of the art arena. Major concerts and events are passing over us to go to Indianapolis, Columbus, Louisville, etc, the GOP convention passed over us, the NCAA tournament too (Cincinnati is a top 5 market for college basketball and you have to figure OSU, UK, UofL or IU would almost always get selected to play here). In an ideal world the city would invest in upgrading (or completely re-doing) US Bank Arena downtown and make UC basketball its primary tenant. Unfortunately the word is they are asking for UC to put up a significant portion of the money for the renovation of which UC has no interest in doing. Mick Cronin stated during our basketball banquet that 2015-16 will be the last season we play in current 5th 3rd Arena and there has been significant progress in renovating 5th 3rd Arena down from 13,176 to around 11,000 with an emphasis on premium seating and a permanent bowl seating.

That is a shame and a big mistake on the part of the city Bounce. Perhaps they should take some of the millions to be spent on the absurd streetcar system and put it into a new riverfront basketball/hockey arena. I would like to see a NHL team in the city but it will never play at the Bank Arena. What do you think about XU and UC double headers on weekends at a new arena? This is something that was done in the past in Chicago and was very successful.
