only thing to watch:
If Smart turns down Texas, the Longhorns likely are turn their attention to Utah's Larry Krystkowiak and Xavier's Chris Mack.

FWIW, word from people in the know around the program is that Shaka isn't talking to Texas. This includes parents/family members of current players. This would contradict Rothstein, but help Texas put pressure on other candidates. Shaka and assistants were around Richmond all day, and inside VCUs arena and basketball offices.
I thought Texas was a real threat, but it seems overblown. Not saying it's a "done deal" that he's staying, just that all this talk is a bit much.

GoodmanESPN Jeff Goodman
True. @SethDavisHoops: A knowledgeable source informs me that as of this morning there have been no direct talks b/t Texas and Shaka Smart.

Chris Mack???????? Could anything make Xavier fans happier than that? They would be having fire engine parades through Norwood, Ohio! Then they could run out and hire Pat Kelsey. Chris Mack leaving for Texas? Can't imagine that.

Hey man, show some respect. That is obviously Mr. Gavitt and not some pathetic Dayton troll.
