Andy Katz: DePaul to Name Dave Leitao Head Coach

I watched some of Leitao at his press conference today, and i feel a lot better about things for DePaul. Well-spoken and seems to have his head in a good place. It's a huge relief to have a DePaul coaching change and this is the first step in turning things around. Can't wait to see them play this Fall.

I really think the DePaul hire with the safe hire is a good one. he knows the DePaul situation having lived it for 3 years with pretty decent success(the best 3 year period in the last 25 years- to put it in perspective- the 1st 2 years of that stretch- DePaul was still an independent!).

Regardless, DePaul has been in a conference since 1991 (GMC). !991-2015 is 25 years.

You are counting wrong. 1989, 1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995,1996,1997,1998,1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. Count those up. It is 27. We don't start counting at -1 or even 0, counting always begins at 1.

I will give you that if we group it as 1990-91 to 2014-15 season you can add one more. That would cover one year as an independent. However in straight counting March of 1991-March of 2015 is 25 years. Leitao begins his tenure in the 2015-16 season.
