That Tulsa was blown out by Murray State by 20 points Monday night? Before Murray State went out and lost to Old Dominion last night?

I can't believe that someone on this board was trying to sell us on Tulsa as a legit tournament team.

So the NIT is supposed to prove things? I guess that means that Temple got screwed since they are in New York. And I guess SMU got screwed last year as well since they made the title game. Don't think that's a road you want to down there bud.

Also, Old Dominion was one of the 1st 4 out. So them beating the team that beat Tulsa is pretty much meaningless. Speaking of that- that may have been the shot of the month last night. Real smart play by the ODU guy go right up the sideline where the guy from Murray St had to get out of the way or it would have been a block call for sure and then set up for a long shot that was a swish.

I agree. Those two three pointers at the end of the game were worth watching the entire game. The ODU shot was the one you practiced in the driveway for 10 years.

I agree that Temple got screwed, but not because they are in NY. With a 34 RPI and a win over Kansas, they shouldn't have even been considered a bubble team. They should have been in because their resume was good enough for them to be a solid choice.

Tulsa's 20 blow out loss to a mid major is just further evidence of what we already knew. They ain't that good this year. That was evident before the selections were made, and it's even more evident today. Heck, they struggled to beat William & Mary on their own court in their earlier NIT game

Just stop with slamming Murray St. They were a darn good team and lost by a fantastic shot to a good ODU team that was one of the first 4 left out(if they did it the way I think they did, ODU would have been the 2nd or 3rd team left out).

With Tulsa- they are going to be better next year.

What's been amazing is we've had far fewer of those kind of shots this month than we have had before it seems. Only 2 I can really remember are this one and then the Georgia St one. Seemed like a lot more of those shots missed than normal this year.

I'm sorry, but haven't we already agreed that a one game sample size is way too small to judge a team by? Tulsa's resume wasn't good enough to get in, but their early loss in the NIT does not reinforce the opinion that they weren't deserving.

When added to their overall record, a 3-point win at home over William & Mary and a 20 point blow out loss to Murray State AT HOME certainly does round out their narrative as a team well outside the top 50, i.e. NCAA tournament teams exclusive of the automatic qualifiers from mid major leagues.

BTW, who's judging them on one game? My position on them has been clear for the past 6 weeks. Over that time, each additional lackluster performance has had a cumulative effect.

No.

BTW, I was slamming Tulsa, not Murray State. ;)

Agree.

That was the whole point this year. They were a team that was still a year away from reaching its potential.
