For comparison: The American has received six NCAA bids and won 10 NCAA tournament games.

How about this comparison:

Louisville was in the AAC last season and is no longer there.
The AAC got less bids this season than last and the Big East got more.
UConn played it's conference opener in Hartford in fromt of just over 5,000.
The Big East had more games on National TV and network TV than the AAC.
The AAC is still unstable as teams such as UConn and Cincy are still looking to leave.
The Big East TV contract is worth more than the AAC which also includes football.
The Big East Tournament is played at Madison Square Garden. Next season the AAC will be in Orlando.
The AAC has basketball powerhouses Tulane, East Carolina, Tulsa, Central Florida, South Florida..well you get it.

So when you want to make a comparison, do it across the board. The fact there is a growing number of UConn fans willing to downgrade football to move to the Big East tells you all you need to know.

You're conveniently overlooking the BIG elephant in the room.

The AAC have the reigning National Champions in both Men's and Women's basketball.

They will probably have the Women's National Champions again.

That trumps everything by a mile.

UCONN-SMU was the featured game on Selection Sunday. The ratings for that game dwarfed the NBE title game.

Last year is done. Wisconsin-Michigan State was the feature game on Selection Sunday. The ratings for ESPN are always blown out of proportion.

Last year isn't done yet. It's their crown until they hand it over. Part of the narrative is that UCONN was the last program to beat Kentucky. That speaks highly of their relevance, and UCONN wasn't even one of their top 4 programs this year.

As we all know, tradition (i.e. history) is what conferences sell to networks. In just 2 years and likely 3 National Championships, the AAC have made themselves relevant.

The NBE really needs to break through that first week wall.

That's your argument? Last year is history dude. In the past. Finished. Who cares that they last beat Kentucky. Creighton last beat Wichita before they went undefeated in the regular season and nobody gave a rats ass.
How is winning three national championships tradition? The conference has been around two seasons. Not enough time for tradition to be established in the first place.

I don't know if you've noticed but the AAC is recruiting their arses off. UCONN's Natty has given them cred. Brunson was going to sign with Temple until his Dad got in legal trouble. They still had a hellofa haul with Alston, Lowe, and Aflakpui. That team is going to be transformed along with the others. They're doing work over there, but I digress.

Hit me with another meme. :D

My apologies. I just saw the comparisons being made, and we don't want to fool ourselves. Pretending that they didn't just win the National Championship doesn't do us any good.

I wouldn't count UConn's women's title this year as a done deal yet at all. Still a lot of games to go. Any UConn fan would remember Shea Ralph who tore her ACL 1st game of tournament and they never were quite the same after that.

And lost in the first round of the NIT this year and have not teams left in the tourney. BE still has a team playing. When you have teams going farther every year come back and start a thread about it, but stop mucking up threads that have nothing to do with the AAC.
