Stop With The Villanova Embarrassed The Big East

Thanks guys. Appreciate the love. Truth is Villanova fans realized how important it was for the Big East for Villanova to do well so you feel a lot of pressure and when you fall short it sucks and you feel like you disappointed but I guess you still hate to get called out because of it.

With the ongoing negative media campaign against the league, it is the responsibility of All 10 member schools/teams to do all they can - both on the court and off, to bolster the league's image with the sports public. No one school shoulders the mantel (well, maybe Georgetown). We had 6 teams make the dance, 4 with a legítimate shot at the SS. We all bear the burden of not meeting expectations. We will just have to endure the media attacks on the league another year. Until we have teams making NCAA Tourney runs, this is the new normal.

Why do you keep going to redmen.com? Most actual Johnny fans avoid that site because it's just so stupid. Why would a Nova fan constantly check that board out?

'Nova killed everybody with their uncanny shooting ability all year. I remember during the X game thinking, 'do these guys ever miss"? Like has already been said here, it's simple, balls didn't go down this time. As a contrast, X shot 68% and 88% from the FT line. Who could have figured that?

Villanova had a great year. A second round exit doesn't diminish that. They will be back next year, and Jay Wright is a great coach (and marketer) for the conference.

NJRedmen, I go to a lot of different boards when I have the time. I don't do it a lot but once a week I will check other teams boards just to see their thoughts on the Big East. What is the other SJU board? Johnny Jungle?

I feel badly for the players, Coach Wright, students and fans of the V. But this is a great program, with one of the finest coaches in the Country. They will be back!

From what I've read, anybody who watched the game came away with the impression that Nova was the superior team - they just had a night where they could not hit a shot. These people have been rather complimentary of Nova.

It seems the real haters are the ones that didn't see the game but only looked at the score.

Villanova lost by 3 to a team from a good conference. It could have easily gone the other way. They did not embarass the conference. How can a top 10 team be an embarassment for one untimely loss?

Is Kansas an embarassment to the B12?
Maryland to the B1G?
Virginia to the ACC?
SMU to AAC? (well maybe )

seriously 3 of those 4 were regular season champs just like Nova and the 4th finished 2nd

Nova losing isnt an embarrasment or doomsday level scenario, It is just unfortunate and frankly a huge part of what makes the tourney so great

I don't say this in exaggeration or jest, but it really is just a forum where thousands read and maybe 10 over the hill guys actually post. The idiots there were so harsh on our best player Harrison a few years back, that Harrison saw the comments and mentioned it on twitter. Only 1 or 2 normal posters exist on that site.

SJU fans, understood, I will take redmen.com with a grain of salt. Is there other sites you recommend though? Again, about once a week, and about once a month in the offseason, I like to check out other Big East members boards to get a feel about recruiting, etc.

Villanova's board, vusports.com is a little bit of a joke, but the pay board is filled with guys who really know what they are talking about. Usually get some very good recruiting info on there as well. So with that being said, I know vusports.com's payboard is legit, meanwhile the free board is an embarrassment filled with trolls and guys trying to be funny.
