This is what can happen in a single elimination tournament. If you have an off night, you can get beat by anyone.

That's why single elimination tournaments aren't the best way of deciding the "best team in the country." Sure they're exciting for fans and easier to manage than anything else, but they don't really determine who the "best team" is. If it were possible, I'd love to see a double elimination tournament, but it's just not.

Completely agree.
It's better than the BCS or College Football Playoff in any form, MLB Playoffs, NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs, etc. Definitely more exciting than any playoff except maybe the NFL Playoffs, but determines the "best team" it does not. And that's fine. We as fans just have to recognize that and not buy into the on-coming junk that we're going to get from stever and the other countless trolls.
