Check out the holyland bracket challenge thread.

Probably checking out the NIT bracket and trying to formulate a case why being on ESPN for the NIT is better than being in the NCAAs....

Providence gets a tired Dayton team with a thin bench instead of a dangerous Boise State team. 8-)

Gonzaga gets UAB or UCLA instead of Iowa State.

You nailed it about Xavier and Providence...

Gonzaga isn't in the conference and isn't going to be in the conference.

All three games in Louisville were one point finals.
UAB over Iowa State
UCLA over SMU
Cincinnati over Purdue

Jacksonville has had big drama with Georgia State over Baylor and the Harvard/UNC game.

Xavier should immediately send out an apology letter to people that had tickets to the games in Jacksonville. Georgia State vs. Baylor was awesome, Xavier vs. Ole Miss was a yawner, Harvard vs. UNC was intense, and Wofford vs. Arkansas looks to go down to the wire. It was only X that was too good to give them their money's worth.

Also, just as a cool stat...Out of the power conferences and the a10 and aac, only 3 teams have beat the Vegas spread by double digits- Villanova, Xavier, and Butler

Obviously, this is with Georgetown pending.

doesn't look like we'll beat the spread by double digits but we'll probably still win by double digits. Only Arizona and Kentucky able to say that outside the Big East. Big East would have Xavier, Nova, and Georgetown. Those slacker Bulldogs only winning by 8 points.

depending on the book, it was 7.5-8.5, most had it at 8 by game time.

This is what I have for the power conferences and the A10 and AAC

Conference Straight Up Margin ATS Margin
A10 ...............0-1.........-3.....1-0......0.5
ACC...............3-0..........7......0-3....-18.5
AAC...............1-1..........0......0-2......-6
Big Ten...........1-1..........2......1-1......-2
Big 12............0-3.........-10.....0-3....-35.5
BEast.............4-0.........78......4-0.....48
Pac 12............3-0.........29......2-1......3
SEC...............2-1.........25......1-2.....-15

After day 1, the Big East is clearly the big winner. The only 3 teams to beat the spread by double digits were Butler, Xavier and Villanova. Only conference to beat the spread as a whole by double digits. Beat their opponents by an average of 10 more points per game than the next best conference.

The Big East freaking OWNED day 1. It is not even close.

Had to add the periods to get the spacing right, didn't know how else to do it.
