Should we get rid of the First Four?

How do people NOT like free basketball? I saw the end of the two late games the last two nights and they were exciting as hell. Who wants that gone? Get over it guys, they aren't dropping conferences out of D1 (It's not just about BBall but all sports), they aren't going to make it all 16 seeds playing (who will watch that?) and even if they rotate it there is the chance that the host team will be in the first four. It's NOT that big of a deal.

If you think that the 16 seeds deserve to be in it but the last 4 in don't then i think you're being just as bad as the FB5 we all bitch and moan about. If Boise or BYU or Ole Miss didn't want to be in the first four they should have won more games, scheduled a tougher SOS and helped their RPI by avoiding bad losses.

One more thing, the idea that these first four have an easier road to the sweet 16 by playing an extra game is ridiculous. After the round of 64 the team they meet two days later has also played a game and unlike the first four team they aren't as run down since they only played one game. The day of extra rest doesn't effect conference tournaments then why would it effect the NCAA tournament.

The fact that 3 first 4 teams in 4 years have made the sweet 16 is very interesting- and all 4 years a first 4 team has won a game. 5-3 record that first game.

That was just such a silly move by the committee. Why, didnt they just switch Dayton with Buffalo or anything. More games mean, more money. I don't see any moves being made to shrink the tourney.

I think we're up to 72 within a few years. 2 first 4 sites which eliminates what happened yesterday.

While true, you could argue that they earned home court by playing well during the season. According to the NCAA list, Dayton was the last team in the field. They were the least deserving of anyone in the field to receive such a benefit.

Dayton should have gotten a higher seed. This is all on the NCAA not Dayton. Was it fair to BYU that Ole Miss had played at ud arena this year?
