Texas still has a 44 RPI after the loss and their SOS is top 20.

That was 3 of Lunardi's first 8 teams gone. great news for Iona and Murray St. I know Lunardi put Richmond as his 8th team out to replace Illinois, so their game with VCU tomorrow could get them closer. Also great news for Tulsa who saw 2 teams vanish for them- and UCLA has to play a USC team today that doesn't help them at all(and would kill them if they lost).

Still hoping for Tulsa, Steve?

I'll say this. Today has gone almost perfectly for Tulsa. Illinois, ODU, Texas A&M all losing early, and Miami getting killed by Notre Dame now. All 4 probably fatal losses for those teams. I think they were already ahead of Iona and Murray St. So really of the 8 teams that were the 1st 8 teams out- only Tulsa and UCLA remain(and UCLA didn't get a break in having to play USC today). They just need a break or two tomorrow and they have a very good chance to make the tourney. (might be getting one in SEC- Ole Miss losing to South Carolina at halftime).

Tweet of the day was from Jeff Goodman-
Indiana with a huge win over Northwestern. Never quite thought I'd type those words.

Steve, when you say that "Today has gone perfectly for Tulsa", you can only mean that Tulsa improved its seed in the NIT.

CUSA was always going to be a 1-bid league. The ODU loss has zero effect on the bubble. The team that benefits from the ODU loss is Louisiana Tech or whoever rises up to win that conference.

And yes, the other teams you mention who lost were on the outside looking in. Texas A&M went into today's competition with an RPI of 57, Illinois was at 61, and Miami at 62. All of these were teams who had to play their way into the tournament by pulling off upsets in their conference tournaments. Without that, none of them were getting in. These losses did nothing to help Tulsa, who needs losses by teams who can free up bid. None of those have come today.

Tulsa's last hopes for an at-large bid evaporated with their losses to Cincinnati and SMU. Their only remaining hope at this point is to win the AAC tournament.

Ole Miss and Okie State lose. SEC might only get 4 max.

maybe to you- but in the eyes of the bracketologists, you are dead wrong. You must not read any bracketology other than bracket matrix which doesn't post folks first 4 out.

1 thing that is good looking at the guy from Syracuse-

There's only 6 even possible bid thief leagues left...
Big Ten- Michigan/Penn St
MWC- Wyoming/Fresno St(Fresno playing right now)
Pac 12- Stanford
A10- La Salle/Richmond/St Bonaventure/GW/RI
SEC- Florida/Auburn/Tennessee/South Carolina
AAC-East Carolina/Memphis/UConn/Houston

part of this is the fact that so many leagues are done with their QF now and had a good bit of chalk quite frankly.
