Arch is an awesome choice. He is the leader of one of the best teams in the country. I always have confidence when Arch has the ball in his hands. ALWAYS. Great player!

I guess Lavs persuaded a few coaches. He said he was voting Arch. NY media surprised at Wright over Holtmann for COY.

I guess 11-7 hurt him but Dunn was the best player in the BE this year hands down...

Well is the award for the leader of the best team or is it for the best player. I highly doubt any of these coaches would take Arch as their first pick if they did a draft of all the BE players.

Oh and Jay Wright wins Coach of the Year which is another head scratcher with what Holtman has done this season. Taking over last minute and making Butler a legit contender. I see a lot of folks on twitter really criticizing these choices for award winners. I'm with them, from Pointer to Arch to Wright this has been a really bad job by the coaches.

I don't get it at all. Looking at the first team Arch wasn't even unanimous 1st team yet Hilliard, Henton, and Dunn were. Any combo of those three would be fine. Arch makes no sense. He's probably the 4th best player on the team.

Yes I get the concept that the makes the team go, but still don't get how he's POY. And I would take Hilliard, Pinkston, Ochefu, heck probably would take Hart before him too if I was looking to add players to my team.

I would have picked Holtman as COY. Going from interim coach to full time and taking Butler to the #2 spot in the regular season is very impressive. If anyone from VU was POY I would have guessed Hilliard. Arch was a surprise when I saw it, didn't see that one coming. Can the coaches vote for their own players?

Coaches can't vote for their own guys. I would be interested to see the number of votes each got. I have to believe Hilliard got at least one or two votes. The POY may have only gotten three votes each or maybe four. Obviously they did not get a majority.
