conference tournies

Postby stever20 » Mon Mar 09, 2015 1:39 pm

Just saw this:
http://awfulannouncing.com/2015/watchab ... ments.html

Put Big East at #6. In some ways have to agree- Nova seems like a clear cut favorite- plus the fact no bubble teams at all. But I wonder if the no bubble teams means something totally opposite w/o the pressure a better tourney than normal....

btw scroll down and see Nantz/Raftery together both now and ages ago.

Big East #6 PLEASE, what a joke. Rich man AAC.

If the Big East Tourney is anything like last year, we are in for a treat.

part of what makes the conference tourneys though are the bubble teams fighting for their dear life. Think last year's St John's/PC game as well as Xavier. Won't have that this year(which is a good thing).

Compare to other conferences-
Big 12 has Texas and Oklahoma St.
Big Ten has Purdue and Indiana
Pac 12 has Oregon and UCLA
SEC has Ole Miss and Texas A&M
ACC has Miami

even below us, there's a lot of bubble teams to work themselves out. AAC with Temple and Tulsa. A10 with really everyone.

You'll be talking differently when Creighton runs thought the tournament and takes the automatic bid. :D ;)

You mean we're really a bubble team? I appreciate the thought and I know you are kidding, but at least we wouldn't
be taking someone else's bid.

That's 1 thing that I guess I have mixed feelings about.

The great thing for the Big East is everything is 1 place. You look at the AAC's tourney, it's ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN2, and ESPN. Guess the same thing goes with a lot of the other ESPN tournies as well... While I have reservations about Fox no doubt, having all the conference tourney on 1 network is probably the biggest plus of anything that I see with the Fox deal.

I will say 1 MAJOR plus for the Big East this year vs last year is no Pac 12 tourney right after the night sessions. Means Fox Sports Live can and hopefully will bounce right back to MSG for the post game reports.

Then people in the world are stupid. Oh god, I'm watching the CAA on NBCSN. How did I do it.

So since the Big East has no bubble teams, for the good of the conference (maximizing bids), the top 6 teams should all just stand down and let Wednesday's 2 winners go through to the final where they can battle it out for the 7th bid, right?

i don't care how good b12 is. i can't get too excited for kansas vs iowa state.

garden will be rocking for sju vs nova. and possible nova vs gtown final? I know fox is salivating for that matchup.

and stars like kris dunn, hilliard, dsr, pointer ready to take over the garden. I can't wait.
