I almost wish Lavin would just sit the starters for the Nova game and get them rested up for the BET. Nova is playing out of their mind basketball, they historically have our number, it's an away game, and it really doesn't matter to us if we win or lose. Obekpa and Harrison are still very banged up and that will certainly affect how far we can go in the tourney. If they are still banged up it spells trouble.
By the way FYI SJU has now gone from 13 wins to 17 wins to 20 wins to 21+ wins year after year. Clear progress, and back to back 20 win seasons and 2 NCAA's in 5 years means we are relevant again. Also ranked as high as 15th in 2011 and 2014. Now we just need to keep recruiting and continuing the winning culture.

Interesting dilemma for SJU... Get some banged up players some much needed rest or go all out against the top team to boost your resume even more? Tough call for Lavin. Maybe play the starters and see what happens. The biggest problem with that strategy though is that Nova's depth could wear down a short-handed Johnnies. So a close game for 35 mins could turn quickly in the last 5. So that may lead to the worst case scenario in which you end up playing Harrison and Obekpa a lot of minutes and lose anyway. If they were going to win, you'd almost want Nova to jump on them early.
