Just another laughable call by BE officials.

sad the lack of chatter on this site about the Georgetown v Butler game. More talk about UVA than either team.

that was a total joke of a call. If that was the NBA, the guy from Butler would be fined $500 easy.

Good win for Georgetown. Makes it where a win on Saturday and worst case we finish 3rd. Can finish 2nd with 1 Providence loss now. Although our kryptonite would be waiting quite possibly if we finish 3rd- in Xavier.

I think the announcer hit it on the head when asked about CU's close losses. the game gets simplified in the last min. you need players who can make plays. CU just doesn't have anyone who can step up in that role.

that's pretty much it. We have a lot of good players, but don't have a "closer" who can take the ball and get a shot or a call in the last minute.

Next year Huff would seem to be a guy who is comfortable taking that role or at least attracting enough attention to open things up for others. Being longer and more athletic at almost every position next year won't hurt either. Home court crowd will be ready for next year also!

I doubt that the player would be fined. It's not the same as a flop, even though he did look like he tried to sell the refs on the foul by kicking his leg out and taking the offbalanced shot. Nonetheless, that is a horrendous call. I didn't see the game or an actual replay. I would love to know which ref it was and where he was positioned on the court.

Did butler peak too early? That game was theirs if they executed properly. Butler had so much momentum early February and it seems they might've lost it

That's not a flop, just an Oscar winning performance. They made up for it the next play with a foul called on him, but it was really just another bad call by bad officials. (OK really bad call!) Butler shot so bad from the FT line they lost, that's the game summary.
Creighton once again lost in heartbreaking fashion, but it keeps Nova in the hunt for a #1 seed so good for the conference.

Creighton played a great game last night. It really shows you how competitive this league is. Also, great atmosphere in Omaha. Very happy to have Creighton in the Big East. Hoping McDermott will have some more success on the recruiting trail and keep Creighton as tough as they were last night.

It may be a thing where Butler just not able to beat any of the top 3 teams....
Villanova 55-67, 65-68
Georgetown 59-61, 54-60
Providence 62-66, 1 game left

Vs the other 6 teams, they've gone 11-1. Only losing to Xavier...

The momentum you talk about- here's the 5 game winning streak
Creighton, Seton Hall, Marquette, St John's, DePaul

So it wasn't exactly the most brutal stretch by any stretch of the imagination....

Butler has totally over-achieved where folks thought they were at the start of the season- a fringe NCAA tourney team.

Their results the last 12 games show a team that has beaten 1 NCAA tourney team, St John's. Look at their schedule this last month-
19 Sat, Jan 17, 2015 Final 21 @ Georgetown 19 - 9 59 - 61 L
20 Wed, Jan 21, 2015 Final 129 Creighton 13 - 17 64 - 61 W
21 Sun, Jan 25, 2015 Final 74 Seton Hall 16 - 12 77 - 57 W
22 Sat, Jan 31, 2015 Final 149 @ Marquette 11 - 17 72 - 68 W
23 Tue, Feb 3, 2015 Final 40 Saint John's 19 - 9 85 - 62 W
24 Sat, Feb 7, 2015 Final 167 DePaul 12 - 18 83 - 73 W
25 Sat, Feb 14, 2015 Final 4 Villanova 28 - 2 65 - 68 L
26 Mon, Feb 16, 2015 Final 129 @ Creighton 13 - 17 58 - 56 W
27 Sat, Feb 21, 2015 Final 43 @ Xavier 18 - 12 56 - 73 L
28 Wed, Feb 25, 2015 Final 149 Marquette 11 - 17 73 - 52 W
29 Sat, Feb 28, 2015 Final 167 @ DePaul 12 - 18 67 - 53 W
30 Tue, Mar 3, 2015 Final 21 Georgetown 19 - 9 54 - 60 L

wins over 129, 74, 149, 40, 167, 129, 149, 167
losses to 21, 4, 43, 21

could probably say a stretch like that is like a fringe NCAA tourney team(note- I'm not saying they are fringe NCAA tourney, they're totally safe- but they sure are playing like it)...

Pretty funny. Before I even watched the video, I thought, "Which guy will it be, Barlow or Dunham?"
