Come on stever, stop pretending that you think Butler will even get in. We all know you expect the committee to see through the shell-game that we played with the rpi and award us no at larges. Meanwhile, UConn will show up at our tourney in NY and we'll all say "hey why not? We remember the good old days." They will then proceed to take our auto bid for the AAC and we will wind up with no tourney teams.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

no, the committee will give us at larges.. but they're going to be as follows -
Georgetown 3 seed
PC 14 seed
Butler 14 seed
St John's 16 seed
Xavier 16 seed

Xavier has to play Kentucky in the 1st rd. St John's gets a rematch with Duke..

look at the rpi after tonight....
St John's 44
Cincy 45

just shows how much the home/away component to the RPI plays a factor in the RPI. I think going into today St John's was like 41 and Cincy was 51.

This was Lunardi's seed list entering today:
Saturday seed list (CAPS=AQs): 01-UK, 02-UVA, 03-Duke, 04-ZAGA, 05-WISC, 06-NOVA, 07-ZONA, 08-KU, 09-Utah, 10-IowaSt, 11-NDame, 12-Unc...
..13-Okla, 14-Lville, 15-UNI, 16-Wichita, 17-Baylor, 18-Md, 19-But, 20-Arka, 21-VCU, 22-SMU, 23-Prov, 24-Gtown, 25-Wvu, 26-OklaSt, 27-SDST..
28-MichSt, 29-Ohio St, 30-Texas, 31-Day, 32-OleMiss, 33-Xav, 34-Iu, 35-Ga, 36-Temp, 37-Iowa, 38-A&M, 39-ColoSt, 40-Cincy, 41-Lsu, 42-Ucla...
...43-Illini, 44-Stan, 45-Purd, 46-StJohn, 47-NCSt, 48-HARV, 49-WOFF, 50-IONA, 51-MURR, 52-VALPO, 53-LATECH, 54-TOLEDO, 55-EWASH, 56-SAMH...
...57-UCDAVIS, 58-SDAKST, 59-W&M, 60-HIGHPT, 61-BMST, 62-FGCU, 63-ALBA, 64-NCCU, 65-ULMONR, 66-STFRAN(NY, 67-BUCK, 68-TEXSO.
FOUR OUT: BoiseSt, Davidson, Tulsa, Miami-FL. NEXT FOUR: Oregon, BYU, URI, UMass. FOUR MORE: Pitt, StMary, ODU, SFAustin.

Just looking today Butler only one in the top 25 that lost. VCU got a decent win over UMass, WVU got a win over 26 Okla St.

around Xavier is huge. 30 Texas and 31 Dayton both lost. So X may get up to the 8 line already.

With St John's- 42 UCLA lost but that was it. A win over Seton Hall right now doesn't mean much at all so probably will remain around 45. I guess the big question will be does UCLA stick or does one of Boise/Davidson/Tulsa enter the bracket.

seems the big losers today- Miami, Umass, St Mary's.

Sorry stever, I'm uncertain if you are responding in kind to my joke post or being serious. I only bring it up to point out you could have been far more outrageous.

The two games on Fox (over the air) yesterday were excellent advertising for our conference. They are exactly what we need. Games on OTA are the best promotion we can have.

It appears more and more likely we will get 6 teams into the dance. Here are the Team Rankings numbers. St Johns is on the cusp but getting closer.

Big East Conference (5.5 Projected Bids)
Projected Seed Current Record & Projected Finish NCAA Tournament Bid Odds Seed Projection Detail
Seed S-Curve Team Proj W/L Bid Auto Bid At Large Bid Avg Seed 1-4 Seed 1 Seed

4 16 Providence (19-8) 21-10 99% 7% 92% 5.1 43% 0%
6 22 Butler (19-8) 22-9 99% 15% 84% 6.4 20% 0%
7 27 Georgetown (18-8) 20-9 99% 14% 85% 7.6 6% 0%
7 26 Xavier (18-10) 20-11 93% 10% 83% 6.9 11% 0%

The Big East now has five teams in the RPI Top Thirty (Live-RPI) with Xavier bringing up the rear at #29. (RPI Forecast hasn't yet included yesterday's games.)

I was totally joking!!!

I actually should have said that PC was the 14 seed playing 3 seed Cincy, Butler 14 seed playing 3 seed Florida. St John's 16 seed playing 1 seed SMU. and Xavier 16 seed playing 1 seed Tulsa.

I am confident we will have six teams in the dance. Looking at competitors however I think we must note the A-10 has fallen from 6 last year to 2 or perhaps 3 this year whilst the AAC will have 4 this year just as they had last year however all of their 4 are rated lower than last year except SMU. One good thing for the AAC is two of their power teams Uconn and Memphis are out of the running this year. Should Uconn and Memphis return to the norm next year they could have 6 teams in the dance in 2016. I must admit I thought when they brought Tulsa into what was clearly a makeshift conference they were making a huge mistake. If I remember correctly only Stever was touting Tulsa as anything other than a last resort. Either he was correct or Tulsa may be a one shot wonder.

Conferences and projected bids

Conference Projected Bids
Big 12 6.5
Big Ten 6.3
ACC 6.3
Big East 5.5
SEC 4.9
American 3.9
Pac-12 3.4
Atlantic 10 2.8
Mountain West 2.2
MVC 2.1
WCC 1.8
