I guess if Val burst into my office today and demanded that I choose a squad right now I would probably take the WCC refs. This obviously depends on them accepting the jobs. I mean, they said they would a year ago but has anyone talked to them since? Also, I'm not sure we've given the MVC refs a fair shake yet. They may not have the academic credentials of our current refs, but their work on the court has been exemplary.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Xavier looked unreal today. Haven't looked that good since the days of beating shitty A 10 teams.

I guess my main remaining question is why we didn't go out and get them when we launched. I mean they said they were available, but obviously we didn't want them the first time, which begs the question: are they really good enough to consistently call good games?

Good win. Way closer than it should have been but finally pulled away late. The work is far from over though. I still think our best bet is to beat Xavier at MSG then beat Marquette. There is a 99% chance we don't beat G'Town or Nova. Both are just too deep and big. Xavier scares the crap out of me, because I can't see us sweeping them. Even at the Garden I think they will dominate. Hope I'm wrong. Beating Marquette will not be easy either. They fought Nova and never went away for good. Fischer is a beast inside and they have some shooters.

It would be so devastating if this year's SJU squad doesn't make the tourney. So overdue, so needed. Even if we lose by 50 in the first round…we just need to make one for a change.

Xavier played exactly how you want a team trying to get the attention of the NCAA commission to play. Great game.

Hoosier, you're quickly becoming one of my favorite posters.
Great mix of sarcasm, cynicism, and negativity towards the Big East.

So tell us, what was most enjoyable in the Louisville game?:
a. Louisville shooting 27.8% from 3.
b. Louisville shooting 63% from the line.
c. Miami shooting 31.6% from 3.
d. Louisville with 19 first-half points.
e. Both teams combining for 36% from the floor.

An ACC Bricklayers Convention.

Maybe I'm wrong but I didn't think I that each conference had a set group of refs just for their games. I think refs are just refs and they get hired for BE, A10, AAC whatever games. I grew up with one of the refs who does some BE games and I've seen him do a B10 game and a couple A10 games. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Uh, two point game, last shot to tie or win......you don't like close games? The 8 to 10 minutes I saw were pretty good.

Gumby, the conversation between marquette and I was satirizing expansion discussion. In reality, refs have contracts with several conferences and are spread out throughout the year.

No problem Hoosier.
i thought you changed the station because the game was "ugly", but then noticed the pretty ugly stats in the Miami game.
