One dirty play and seton hall should all the sudden be removed from the big east? Ok.

Damn it Sterling what the f**** was that?! With all these rumors of you using the grad transfer rule to leave after this season, you're doing a damn good job of making us not miss you!

You guys are gross. Total embarrassment to The Big East.

Oh give me a break. Yeah, the actions of one guy make the whole program have zero class and disgusting to watch.

Well by your logic, Villanova is equally classless and disgusting for Josh Hart's vicious stomp on Angel Delgado in the first game. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Grow up.

This is embarrassing, just as embarrassing at Obekpa's malicious elbow to Wideman's head. This is NOT the reputation we want in the Big East. Commish needs to step in and get this nipped at the bud. This is becoming the Cheap Shot league.

Everyone needs to settle down a bit. Gibbs made a bad decision, will pay the price, apologized, and that's it. Does everyone here recall this is the Big East? Does anyone remember the 80's and 90's in this league when fists would fly every night? We had a six foul rule in the 90's so players could stay in games! The Gibbs shot was bad no doubt, but it was handled and I assume will be handled to the extent neccesarry. Seton Hall should be tossed from the league? Really? It's a little much. Villanova can handle it - and they did. When Louisville entered they league, they were losing a few games and players were complaining about a lot of no calls. Pitino told them they were playing in the Big East - it wasn't needlepoint and they needed to toughen up a bit. Cheap shots shouldn't be tolerated but let's not get all ACC about it.

An alleged stomp that there's shoddy video evidence for is a lot different than a clear closed fist to the face when your arms are occupied elsewhere. Not on the same level.

Seton Hall has had a lot of embarrassing issues since the last time it played an NCAA Tournament game. Whether it's Herb Pope punching people, Sterling Gibbs punching people, Stix Mitchell robbing drug dealers, Bobby Gonzalez's antics, or whatever caused the most recent strife within the program, there have been many more negative SHU stories in the last 9 years than positive ones. My school isn't perfect, but I get where people who are frustrated with the Seton Hall program are coming from.

Shame to see a promising season end like this. The remaining 4 games could thrust SHU right back on the bubble if they can somehow win them, but it's looking like a major longshot at this point.

That all said, I'm not throwing stones at Gibbs. He made a really dumb play in the heat of the moment. If that's a pattern of behavior, I'll view it differently. And while he did throw a punch at Hart in the first meeting, I'm not ready to call it a pattern yet.

I'm in no way condoning what Gibbs did today, it's embarrassing and I would have no problem with him being suspended for the remainder of the season. But I think it is on a similar level of Hart's stomp, which...I don't know what video you're talking about...but it looks pretty clear what he did. They're the same in that they're both lashing out in frustration in a way that could have caused (I'm going to give both the benefit of the doubt and stop short of saying intended to cause) an injury. One was elbow to forehead, the other was foot to chest. Both dangerous and completely uncalled for, but also both regrettable acts by a single person and not reflective of the programs as a whole.

As for everything else mentioned, that was over 5 years ago under an old coach who everyone connected with SHU would admit was a bad hire. Also, Stix Mitchell was no longer on the team when his incident occurred. And trust me, nobody is more frustrated with the Seton Hall program than we SHU fans are (except, hopefully, the staff and players, but I'm so sure).

Hall2012, the pot calling the kettle black would give me the twisted idea that Villanova and Seton Hall are on the same level. Villanova right now, is the class of the Big East. Seton Hall right now, has been embarrassing for the Big East and tonight did NOT help.

The funny thing is Hall2012, on Villanova's main message board, something like this happening was predicted before the game. That is what other Big East fans think about Seton Hall. They predict something shitty happening, and it does. Pretty scary.

Unfortunate play. Gibbs should probably suspended a couple of games but people need to stop with this call for a ban for the rest of the season. Saying that SHU should be kicked out of the conference is just frustration from an upset fan. C'mon!

Calling Gibbs a thug is a bit overblown too. Things seem to have heated up between Nova and and the Hall this year but Gibbs has always seemed like a pretty good guy. His actions were the product of frustration during a beat down. Inexcusable but let's keep some perspective.

This has nothing to do with results. I'm just saying it's hypocritical of you to lynch our entire program for one guy for doing something stupid and dangerous, but to brush it off as nothing when it's your guy committing the violent act. And no, that's not what other Big East fans think of Seton Hall. That's what Villanova fans who are bitter about losing the last two games (the most recent of which was a particularly heated affair) think. The possibilities of some extracurricular activities in this game certainly did exist, stemming back to the last game and the fact that the Hall is clearly a frustrated team right now. But to suggest that this SHU team has any pattern or reputation of playing like this is just plain ignorant.
