But it should be said, stever20 pretty much made it known before this season that he thinks the C7 (or at least his Hoyas) should've stuck with the AAC. Nothing wrong with that, just some perspective.

Wow! Why? That's just crazy. :o

Well, to his credit. It was before the season, so AAC was looking better on paper.

But really, I don't think his mind has changed, and don't know why it would've. TIts a simple debate. Is it better to have a better conference top to bottom or 5 great teams with 5+ teams to beat up on. TV contracts might've been a part of the discussion as well.

Problem is, even in the AAC's best year. Its foundation is built on shaky ground. All the good teams are hoping to leave and probably will eventually.

UCONN loses by 20 at SMU. High 80's RPI 4-9 to RPI Top 100 and a loss to #244. Not a tourney team.

This debate is pointless since it's all going to play itself out and the best thing we can do is sit back and watch. I know as a St. John's fan from past experience is that once I start watching the brackets for my johnnies and getting thoughts of dancing in march we hit a skid and F everything up. So all i'm doing is looking at the game against the hated Hoyas on tuesday and letting them come one game at a time. I'm confident in my teams ability to get it done. 4 out of the 6 guys who get the most playing time are seniors who have never been there. One of them who is going to go down as an all time great in the program. These guys will find a way to get it done.

Good luck to everyone and may the best teams win. :D

The "American" tournament is on UCONN's homecourt so they do have that.....

Jerry Palm's comments today on Xavier's chances.

It's crunch time now for Xavier after a home loss to St. John's. The Musketeers already have 11 losses, and it's not easy to get into the tournament with 14. That means winning four of their next five to stay above that threshold. They have played a strong schedule, so maybe they can still get in with 14, but I wouldn't take the chance

The 20 points don't show how hapless UConn looked against SMU last night. The home court isn't going to make up even 20 points, but it could have been much worse than that.

too many bad losses for X. A win vs. Butler and Villanova would help their cause. On paper, X is the same as a year ago. Average.

"Average" in the Big East is still one of the top 50 teams in the country, which equals NCAA at-large.

While it's true that X does have a few bad losses, they're balanced by good wins vs Providence and Georgetown (twice) while competing against the 12th toughest schedule in the country. Barring another loss to Creighton, that's the end of their bad losses and they're likely to pick up another good win or two down the stretch.

Who is out there without bad losses that the committee is going to take over them?

Would be great if X got in. Please don't misunderstand me. Let's be truthful though. Average in our BE is the same as average in other reputable leagues. Providence and Georgetown are average too. X has losses to UTEP and LBS as well as Auburn and Creighton and Depaul. Who is the marquee win on their schedule? Is there a win on the schedule somewhere that they won and shouldn't have?
