Since 2000 these are UD RPI

The 119 & 184 & 115 were coaching change years and from what I read here there won't be any coaching changes in Big East because of the prestige and $'s so Dayton inclusion eliminates those blips. In all of these years except for 2006 UD has been outstanding in the OOC but for several reason faltered in A10. A couple of season were marred by injury and frankly A10 coaches had Brian Gregory's # but with that knock on BG it must be noted he had an incredible record against BCS teams.

That would make us must see TV in Philly with the top two programs in the town and add a big state school. Sooner or later we are going to need a ratings bump and I think those two schools would do it.
Either that or sprinkle steroids on the Duquesne program to get some TV coverage in a historic Big East city.

You can say the same thing about Dayton. In a state that's dominated by OSU and in a region where X is Competing with Cincy, doubling down with a 2nd team in the region with a strong fan base would increase the BE presence in Ohio.
The power conferences have thrived not because one team brings a market that it dominates but because in-state rivalries intensify local interest. Having 2 teams in a market doesn't seem to have hurt anyone's chances to be successful. In North Carolina, for example, all 3 teams in the research triangle have won multiple national championships. Michigan State and Michigan have both won national championships. Same thing for football in Alabama. Many other examples in which 2 teams have been successful, helped by sharing the same market and not hurt by it.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Same reason X wouldn't want Dayton or Cincy. Same reason Gtwn doesn't want GW or VCU (to a lesser degree), same reason PC doesn't want URI, same reason SJU wouldn't want Fordham. If VNova said they didn't want Temple in the BE, would Creighton and any other team say "sorry, but Temple is who we want" or would they stand by their conference brethren, who has been very instrumental in this league having the cred that it has. If XU didn't want Cincy or Dayton, I know that would be enough for me. We don't need two teams in one market. No, no, no to Temple. Ever... Not kidding.
