ESPN didn't take years to take off? Is this guy for real? Were you around and watching early ESPN? Forget early, how about 10-15 years after they started did you watch them then? Darts, second rate pro wrestling, strong man competitions, battle of the athletes re-runs from the 70's. It was horrible for YEARS.

Apologies for the confusion. I meant when ESPN launched ADDITIONAL NETWORKS such as ESPN2, ESPNU, etc. Yes, when it was a new company it was horrible.

Fox is not a new company, though. That was my point. It's not like FS1 is the first time anyone has ever heard of Fox.

The Big East's highest rated game this season was still lower than UConn this season! By UConn I'm referring to the woman's team! Out of sight and out of mind for the Big East. It sucks because I think there are some good teams in this league!!!

Georgetown-Villanova on the main Fox channel was outdrawn by UConn-South Carolina on ESPN2. Also, I never enjoy the game with Xavier win or lose. The only reason why we should keep scheduling it is because Xavier will almost always be a top 50 RPI team and we'll need the game now that we are in this mediocre league.

UConn-South Carolina was 1 vs 2 and there was really no other games going on a Monday night, while a Saturday early afternoon when 10 other games are going on at the same time on national TV.

If Fox Sports gets Big Ten games, you know where the Big East falls on the scheduling priority list. Do you really want that?

Yes, because it will get Fox Sport 2 going.

Because there will be Big Ten games on FS2.

What are the chances they get the PAC 12? That would give us the East Coast timezone and they get the west coast?

As I stated somewhere else, the Pac-12 deal is a 50/50 split in football with ESPN/FOX and in basketball ESPN gets 44 games and FOX gets 22.

We aren't degree factories like public schools so we will never have the alumni/fanbase that those schools do. So we can just give that up right now. What we do have is 10 like-minded universities with good basketball tradition.

Not a task at all for Marquette. MU gets better ratings than Wisconsin when it's ncaa tourament time. 53/47 split. Plus, let's just say Big East, not New Big East.

Because there will be Big Ten games on FS2.

Why would the B1G put their non-marquee games on FS2, instead of BTN? BTN is highly profitable (44cents a viewer, FS1 is somewhere around 70 cents, ESPN2 90 cents, ESPN is $5.44), and the B1G owns 49% of it outright.

The current deal us pretty good, with marquee games going to ESPN/2, others on BTN. FS2 would be a MAJOR downgrade.

I'm sorry, but I'd wager Wisconsin leads MU during in season ratings (which are all that matter for Conferences seeking partnerships with cable companies) and I hate the Badgers.

#21 Oklahoma Stata @ #16 Baylor ran simultaneously on ESPNU, Duke played a road game that they nearly lost (always a huge draw, especially on the road) and Iowa State @ Oklahoma (two more ranked teams) overlapped the game too. Also, FOX is a national channel not on cable!

Haha Yeah, I was stripped of my MOD status and banned myself then said I wasn't banned but I didn't care at that point. I came here and never looked back.
