SHU sold the farm to get Whitehead. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't-this time it didn't.

Various players have spent the afternoon on Twitter pledging their allegiance to Seton Hall. A little late for that one thinks but OK. Noticeably absent from that group: Sterling Gibbs. Sina's closest friend on the team was Sterling Gibbs. There was one report (from a writer I don't particularly trust) that Sina and Gibbs never entered the locker room after last night's game. It seems a fait accompli that Gibbs will be using the graduate transfer rule to play somewhere other than Seton Hall next season.

The tweet of the day (since deleted, as if anything can really be deleted from the Internet) came from an editor at the school paper who said that he was told by Sina and others that all of Seton Hall's problems revolve around Isiaiah Whitehead.

Is it a slam dunk in SHU circles that Danny Hurley would be the first guy contacted to replace Willard? Heck if Mack decides to move on I'd like X to go after Hurley.

Seton Hall fans seem to think Hurley will not return to his Alma Mater because he was treated poorly by the fans when he was at the school. At least that's what I read on their message board, but who knows how accurate that would be. It would seem like a great idea. Alum, former coach of a power house NJ high school program. Has been pretty successful in college so far. But they need a real coach if they can't get Hurley. No more poaching coaches from the MAAC. The coach should be from an A10 level program or higher.

Ben Jacobson, UNI, is the hot name this year.

It's crazy how similar SHU and SJU seem to be as of late. Tons of talent, but somehow it just never works out and there is always drama. Thank god SJU dodged the Whitehead bullet. I wanted him so bad, but lots of SJU fans told me it was a sleazy situation and it would come back to haunt Willard. I guess the chickens have come home to roost.

It seems like no matter what SHU or SJU does can ever translate into a tourney berth. SHU had a huge class and basically every player they got was the real deal. Except Whitehead's attitude is supposedly killing the locker room now. They were very deep and finally started to show they could be a top tier team beating top 15 squads SJU and Nova back to back. Then they tank in conference and a key reserve ditches them.

I just don't think Willard or Lavin will ever guide their teams to the tournament. I think Lavin is slightly better, but if SJU misses the tourney again which there is a great shot of happening, both should be fired.

Ben Jacobson is a very good coach, also high character. Doug McDermott originally signed a letter of intent to UNI. When Greg took the Creighton job (same league) Coach Jacobson immediately released him from the letter of intent to go to Creighton. It helped that he was Doug's Godfather (I believe). UNI fans were understandably bitter about Creighton's success with Doug, so it's nice to see UNI having such a great year! The best chant ever directed at Doug in the Valley, and there were many, was "you're adopted" from Drake. Father and son had a good chuckle with that one!

Apparently what has gone on in the SHU locker room, is beyond disgusting. Many, many people to blame. Player(s) and Coaches probably in more ways than one.

Just know Jaren did not leave under his own volition. He wanted to be a Pirate, but he could no longer be one.

Extremely sad and upsetting. Utterly disturbing.

KW & Staff, Players, and University may have a lot to answer for and it may be a long recovery.

Let's all hope not. But idk man.

Not my first post... Long time poster (shupat08) forgot my password!

Anyways, as a SHU fan I am ashamed... This may be the beginning of a pretty dark time for SHU if what apparently transpired ever comes to light.

I just hope Jaren has a great career wherever he winds up.

KW, Staff & Players may have a lot of explaining to do in the near future.

Ugh. Utterly disgusted and disgraced today.

Very sad and scary situation.
