a dumpster fire that could easily get 4 teams in the tourney. They are very well positioned right now. Tulsa and SMU have 2 and 1 games left respectively that would be RPI killers if they lost. Cincy has 5 left- but that means they have a real easy schedule left. Temple has 3 left. Oh and as a possible extra chip- UConn hosts the conference tourney. The AAC has had with a few exceptions almost a perfect month with teams they've wanted to win actually winning.

The one conference that I'd say is more of a dumpster fire is the A10. They've had the upset losses that folks here have been hoping would happen to the AAC.

If the game was anywhere besides UC I would agree, but I went to the game 4 years ago and that place was crazy. Xavier got beat by about 20. Quite possibly the most miserable 2 hours of my life constantly getting crap from UC fans, and that was before the brawl. I'll be there again this year so hopefully it's a different result, but I'm feeling less and less confident.

Weren't you defending Kansas State last week? And Davidson? And Miami (Fla)?
I've lost the high-confidence that I never possessed in your ability to predict the performance of these bubble teams.
I have difficulty envisioning Tulsa and Temple having two clean upcoming weeks, never mind six more screw-up-free weeks.

I have gone through the six stages of grief with Xavier after the Creighton loss. And have now accepted what was true all along, the deserving teams get into the tournament. Simple.

The thing with Tulsa especially- they only have 2 RPI killer games left. If they win those 2 and go even 2-4 against the others(SMU, @ UConn, Temple, @ Memphis, Cincy, and @ SMU), they're in pretty easily- 21-8 with a 38.8 RPI . All Temple needs to do is win like 2 games from a group of @ Memphis, Cincy, @ SMU, @ Tulsa, and UConn- and avoid 3 bad losses vs ECU 2x, and Houston, and they would be at 21-10. with a 43 RPI. That's a pretty solid chance of getting in.

I don't think you realize just how good the records are for Tulsa and Temple right now, especially for the winner of their game.

The top 4 of the AAC has had exactly 1 bad loss in conference all year- Cincy to ECU. That's it. Even 5th place Memphis has only 1. Keeping their 80 RPI. That's huge.

Bubble Watchers, keep an eye on Purdue. They have gotten hot after a horrible start and have won 5 of their last 6, including 3 against teams that WERE rated in the AP Top 25 at the time of the game. They are tied for 2nd in the Big Ten (Ok, 3rd on tie breaker) at 7-3. Overall record of 15-8 does not help them. Current RPI of 73 but trending up quickly. They have 5 of 8 on the road, including games at IU, OSU and MSU. This weekend they are at Minnesota. If they pull off the MN win, they likely are 'in the conversation'.

BTW, I am NOT a fan of the Boilermakers.

I looked up "dumpster fire" in the dictionary, and this is what I came up with:

RPI Rankings

179. Tulane
213. Central Florida
230. South Florida
242. Houston
251. East Carolina

Dayton lost tonight at GW. Look at Flyers resume and tell me why anyone on earth thinks UD should dance? Basically no wins of any value.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Unless Dayton beats VCU at some point this year they have a very high chance of getting SMU'ed. That resume is super flimsy.

Richmond just negated their good win at VCU by losing at LaSalle. We played at Gola arena too this year. That team is terrible., even in their little gym.
