:( Hmm . . .

Does this mean that Xavier and Stanford, 2 other DePaul victims, don't deserve NCAA or CBI bids either?

No, you can recover from this kind of performance once- chalk it up to a bad day. But when it happens twice it starts to become a trend

What trend? The 2 DePaul games are the only bad losses Seton Hall has.

Xavier (Auburn) and Stanford (Washington State) each has another bad loss as well.

I guess some of those refs must be from the "country" too.

Major city hoops is all about aggression, fast pace, in your face dunks, and grit. So I think you just don't get that culture. I personally know some of the players and though you will see Harrison's shaved eyebrows and countless tattoos, he is a very well-spoken kid and is extremely friendly always smiling off the court. Phil Greene is like the team nerd. He's quieter. Obekpa is the big joker. Always breaking balls. So when you call them "thugs" it's disrespectful. I understand it if I put myself in some fan's shoes living in Indiana, but this aggressive behavior is all during the game. Off the court they are regular guys.

Thanks for the insult, you over-hyped, practice all-star, egotistical, dirty-ass city dweller.

Being sarcastic, but seriously? You're going to let one Butler fan's opinion be the basis of your thoughts on the whole of the league? Be glad you have us country-folk (Xavier, Creighton last year, and Butler) helping keep the league in "major" status.

I love NYC. Until you come to Indy, shut your mouth.

SJU has much better history and way more tourney berths, but other than that both teams have been ranked on and off recently, and we both have lots of highly rated players. The problem? Awful coaching and zero consistency. It's almost like if you live within 50 miles of NYC and you have a major college hoops team, they will be cursed.

2. I understand we played classless tonight and no doubt it was uncalled for, but Butler fans are really going too far now. Arguing with the refs? Really? You want to make that exclusively a SJU thing? That is so stupid I won't even go further with it. Flopping? Clearly you never watched college hoops before if you only notice SJU flopping. Cough, Arcidiacono cough Villanova. Sorry, bad cold.

The fact that Butler fans see us as a team of "thugs" makes sense. You have to remember the Butler community is more countrified. Different culture. Now I know, you guys are going to act like Indianapolis is a major city. To NYC Indianapolis is a few buildings surrounded by farm land. Butler is a team with lots of kids from the country. You have to realize that many of the Butler fans know the Butler players as well. And when we see Obekpa try and hurt someone with a shot to the head when Wideman wasn't even looking you can bet they are going to feel like Butler players were more than disrespected. "Off the court", if Obekpa pulled that BS he would be a "regular guy" sitting in regular jail. The visceral reaction from the Butler board had nothing to do with differences in culture and pace of life and everything to do with how St. John's carried themselves while here. Nobody on Butler's board said anything about tattoos or eyebrows or anything like that. When Pointer got his T he went to the bench and got a fist pound. Sorry, that says something about how they are being coached (not about where they are from). If players don't want to be called "thugs" on the court, maybe they shouldn't play like thugs on the court, regardless of how they act off the court.

Maybe you should spend a little more time talking to the players you know so well about how to act and worry a little bit less about what the Butler message board has to say about them.

I think the thug comment is more based on elbows to the head from behind than shaved eyebrows and tattoos.

Also I think you're mistaking your teams lack of discipline and leadership for an aggressive culture. Butler is well known for physical defense the last few years. They seem to get by OK without fighting and flopping this year.

The johnnies on the other hand, same story different day.

Obekpa's punch I'm guessing will draw a 2 game suspension.

Fighting is an automatic suspension in the Big East. I don't know how this one will be viewed.
