Big East's NCAA doomsday scenario

I just want all Big East teams to be successful during OOC because that translates to league strength. DePaul was the exact opposite of that and that is the only reason I root against them. Its as simple as that. DePaul running through the Big East conference play is NOT good for the league.

DePaul and St. John's

Please do understand my comment about St. Johns and DePaul. The conference can still be a very good conference if these 2 schools are at the bottom every year. And we DePaul fans love the new Big East.

However, for the conference to reach its HIGHEST potential, IMO...these 2 schools need to get better and be consistent players unlike now. We need NY and Chicago to promote this conference along with Fox Sports.

Don't read into any more than that.

Also, please feel free to rip DePaul when their program sucks and they lose. But don't be stupid enough to rip them when they are trying to win a few games!!!

Have you watched them play? 18-12 might be exceedingly generous.

Welp, looking like 5 bids to me. GTown, Nova, Butler then 2 of Providence, Xavier, Seton Hall and St. Johns.

Providence's rpi is in the teens, they are pretty secure right now. I'd say 2 out of SHU, SJU and X get in.

Right now- Seton Hall needs to go 6-5 to have a real chance going in the tourney.
St John's need to go 6-6 to have any chance going in the tourney.
Xavier needs to win road games to have any chance.

4 is nearly a lock right now. 5-7 is going to be touch and go all the way thru the season quite frankly. The head to heads will be really important with those 3.

One of those 3 is going to get a bid. They're likely going to be the 5-7 seeds in the tournament and wins should get one or two of them in.
So I would say 5 is a lock, with still a good shot at 6 and a very remote (but still possible) chance for 7.

whoever is the 7 would need 2 wins(a win over Creighton won't win much at all). And like you said- they would all likely need wins in the BET.

Also what will be interesting is if DePaul wins like 3 more games- they could be the 7 seed and drop someone to the 8 seed.

With how narrow the margin of error is for Seton Hall, St John's, and Xavier- while it's probably likely that 1 makes the tourney, to say it's a lock that 1 of them is probably isn't accurate at all.
