With 8:18 left, Villanova has it down to 14, at 62-48.

With 7:37 left, Georgetown up 62-50. Hoya ball, under-8 timeout.

Gonna be a 3 hour game with these refs. Calling it tight helps Nova, so I can't complain (when there aren't random "inadvertent whistles") but it kills any flow to this game at all.

Yep. This is gonna be a long 8 minutes.

Villanova is going to have to get the lead down to single digits by the five minute mark. They'll give themselves a chance, if they do.

They call nothing for ~24 minutes, then everything for 8, and now back to the shoving match.

Are these refs usually this inconsistent?

They call every foul and then ignore that!

Nova dug itself too big a hole earlier. 12 points isn't crazy if they catch fire from 3, rebound with Smith and Hopkins in foul trouble, and get lucky with Georgetown missing some shots.

I think Villanova blew their chance to make a move in the last two minutes. Down 15 at the 5:30 mark may do it. Could be down by 16 or 17 after this possession.

This is what happens when you don't defend the interior at all. Georgetown played very good defense early, and Nova's defense was brutal. Didn't help that Georgetown couldn't miss.

Glad we get the rematch at home in a few weeks.

Copeland is gonna be the 'go to guy' for Georgetown next season. I could see him having a solid season, and bolting a year from now.

I felt the game was over midway through the first half. I knew Villanova would make a run at some point, but felt the hole was too big for them.

It's never over midway through the first half, but I didn't really have any hope for a comeback by halftime. I was hoping they'd be within 18 at half, but that didn't happen. Then they went down 26. Impossible to make that comeback without everything going your way. As it is, Georgetown was never really threatened.

It's one thing to lose big to Georgetown, it's another thing for it to take 2 and a half hours. Can't be a quick death?
