No excuse to losing against this team. Their RPI is not a fluke. They didn't have a strange single lose against a bad team in December....they lost to a bunch of them.

Ummm, because depaul actually has some good players, so when they try they can win at home.
You seem to be missing the point here. The issue is not teams losing at depaul when depaul is trying. The issue is depaul taking December off, losing by double digits to a half dozen teams that were no good, and completely destroying their rpi and dragging down the conference and any team they beat with them.
If depaul just tried in December and kept a respectable rpi, even say 100'ish entering January, all would be fine. Marquette's season might not be over, and xavier would not have just seriously injured their tourney hopes. But depaul dogged it all December, and now marquette's season is over and xavier is on life support.

The past few years DePaul has been at the bottom if not the bottom in the conference in recruiting. There are a few Chicago HS teams that could beat this team.

Kinda Wrong. You are looking at their HS recruiting rankings, which does not consider transfers. Myke henry is actually the highest rated guy. He had a rsci ranking of 67 (39 by rivals, 64 by scout, 94 by ESPN) Darrick Wood was in the 100-110 range in 2012. Tommy Hamilton was actually a top 50 guy going into his last AAU season, where he took much of the summer off for injury and academics and then transferred to IMG.
Talent is not the issue.
