Seeing everyone complain about parity in December has only reaffirmed my belief about how stupid it is. We have 3 months of conference play to go, this is when teams come into shape and prove if they are tourney worthy. If you can't win your conference games, you don't deserve it. Deal with it.

every BE team should circle the date they play depaul. that game for all the wrong reasons has become an important game for each team.

i have a feeling depaul will win some games since their talent is not as bad as their record indicates. i think someone said depaul winning 5 games would be disaster for the league and i agree. the success of this league as a whole would be to limit depaul to less than 3 wins.

Crapping on Depaul must be easy and fun. How about we all worry about our own teams jnstead of kicking non-stop the one that's down.

We are all crapping on Depaul because we know they have talent but their record does not indicate that (which is due to the coach). If they win 4 or more games which is not out of the realm of possibility, that could cause the league to lose a bid or two.

Couldn't agree more! We are starting conference play right now. I love the OCC when we all root for each other, but I don't understand the recent basing of a team that's down. It's time to root for your own team, not get hung up on a shortcomings of a conference mate. I'm an Xavier fan so I will obviously be rooting for them every game! I will also be rooting for Villanova (hard not to like Jay Wright), Saint Johns (I don't like Lavin, but I think the conference needs one of the NY area teams to become a power), and Providence (Have rooted for them ever since Pete Gillian became their head coach). Other than that, I just want to see hard fought close games, that prepares whichever schools make the Tourney (hopefully Xavier is in that mix).

So by your own rational you should want DePaul to be bottom dweller with 0 wins

People its really not a hard concept to grasp: DePaul sucks and we should all be praying that they don't pull off a miracle win against the top tier of the conference.

a year ago the standings looked like this:
1.16-2
2.14-4
3.10-8
4.10-8
5.10-8
6.9-9
7.8-10
8.6-12
9.4-14
10.3-15

Of course the league needs DePaul to go 0-16 in 14-15 season but then you have a systemic issue developing.

The question coming to mind for me is not so much what teams are going to finish 10-8 or better because 2-3 will meet or beat that threshold and I think 2 will again separate to 14-4 or better but what teams are going to finish at .500 and below but not 0-16 or 2-14 like DePaul. Obviously there are a lot of scenarios, 4 teams 12-6 or better would be great for the top 4 but not very good for the bottom 6.

I think Nova and Gtown are going to separate at 14-4 or better and obviously DePaul is in the cellar. 3-9 will be interesting, if the Johnnies stay healthy they'll be tough and Butler has proved they can compete at a very high level as well but the rest of the conference is very hard to handicap.

For purposes of NCAA bids, I think it would be great for Nova to lose probably 4 or 5 games and for Depaul to lose all their games. That could be a recipe for 6 bids or more.

And I don't want to speak for others but I can say I have no animosity towards DePaul, in fact I'd love to see them resurrect. But with 6 or 7 straight OOC losses and a probable lame duck coach who has done nothing to turn things around there it is not time to root for them to battle Villanova or really anyone else to the death. It will only hurt the conference. To be frank we need 2-3 teams to suck badly (and outside of DePaul I dont know who that could be)....That's the only way we get 4 or 5 with winning conference records and invites to the big dance. To me this is the big flaw with a tiny conference that has home and homes. We're destined for a bunch of teams to logjam around .500 in conf and the media and casual fans will perceive those teams as mediocre, fair or not.

I want a 12-14 team league and to get the 5 or 6 power teams headed to the post season you need 3-4 dregs for them to beat. It's an impossibility for everyone in the league to have winning records.

if the B12 and ACC get their projected bids of 7 0r 8, why cant the BE get 5?
i am rooting now for BC, ND, Miami and FSU to do well in the ACC. i normally wouldnt but since PC beat 3 of them, it would help rpi
