Nothing close to a triple double this year?

Check out the PC game against Navy back in November:

14 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds

Is that close? I'd say so. 3 more rebounds and he's there. Is he capable of getting 3 more rebounds? He got 9 this year against. URI. 2nd time in his career he had 9. Previously had that many against Charlotte as a freshman. That same year he had 12 rebounds against St. John's.

So, I'd say yes, he has that kind of potential. He just has to put it all together. He's a young kid. Only a sophomore. Plenty of time left. For him to do that.

Bill I was referencing his post right before mine, about a quadruple double. Were he seeming made up a stat line for Dunn and asked if that counted. He most definitely hasn't come close to a quad this year. Triple double is different, lots of players flirt with those. The name of this thread is bold predictions, predicting a triple double is just that, but also completely in Dunn capability(also in a handful of other players in the BE this year).

Edit: adding post I was referring to.

My Bad, I should have quoted Red Rooster, and we could have avoided some of this. He stated that frankly Dunn would not come close to a quad this year, I threw out a fictitious stat line for him of numbers he has already hit in separate games and wanted to know if this was a stat line for him would he consider it coming "close"

Maybe I'm not following but if you're saying he's already had the stats separately, when did Dunn have 8 steals in a single game?

1. Kris Dunn is playing like an All-Big East point guard

And that's exactly why Ed Cooley recruited him to Providence . A former Top 30 recruit out of high school, Dunn missed the majority of his first two years with the Friars due to multiple injuries but now he's finally healthy and playing at an elite level. The 6-4 point guard is averaging 15.5 points, 12.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 steals over his last two games and is finally starting to show people why he was one of the best point guards in the country coming out of high school. Long, wiry, and athletic, Dunn gets into passing lanes on defense and ignite Providence's transition game with his penchant to regularly cause turnovers. The Friars are 10-3 following Monday night's win over Miami and will open Big East play on Dec. 31 against Creighton at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

He hasn't recorded 8 steals in a single game. An exaggerated stat-line, in order to come out on top of the discussion.

By doing it in separate games is totally different recording that kind of stat line in a single game. Besides, I've already cleared it up that he hasn't recorded 8 steals in a single game.

Just stick with the bold prediction of getting a triple double.

Westbrook#36 and I are thinking along the same lines:

Arguing round and round about triple doubles is getting lost in the minutiae. The point is that any discussion about PC and All Big East teams revolves around 2 players: Henton and Dunn. And anyone who has paid attention to PC in the last couple of weeks (admittedly this would be almost exclusively PC fans) knows that arguably, Kris Dunn has been the team MVP, not Henton. To not mention Dunn at all is a disservice to Dunn.

If Kris Dunn plays like a first team Big East player I believe we can contend for the league, if not then we can't. Either way after posting here about not feeling good about the team in the aftermath of our 3 game skid, I've gone the other way again and feel cautiously optimistic heading into conference play after 4 straight strong performances. At this point I expect PC to finish in the top half and make the tourney, but wouldn't be shocked if they didn't either. Going to be fun.

Actually after looking at Dunn's stats the closest he realistically came to a quad double was probably the Brown game: 16 pts, 8 assts., 6 rebs and 6 TO's. UK with 10 TO's is not far behind...

I like Dunn and I think he will be a great player for you guys and is a sure-as-sh!t pro after PC, but let's pump the breaks a bit. He's still young and with young players you've got to take the good with the (sometimes, very) bad. He has not yet developed a 3 pt shot and his 1.79:1 assist-to-turnover ratio is not very good. To put those numbers in perspective compare him to some other PG's in the BE: Arch 3.45:1, Chatman 3.07:1, DSR 2.53:1. Surprisingly Gibbs and Jordan don't take very good care of the ball either. Honestly I think that has as much to do with coaching. But if you are a PG you've also got to take care of the ball.
