No argument here. Many X fans are disappointed in the teams performance. The defense has been unusually porous, and Mack is slow to change. The team has had three close games and has lost all three. They are soft at this point.

That being said, X fans are used to usually poor performances in holiday tournaments, and Mack's teams typically and inexplicably deliver a lump of coal before Christmas. Fortunately, they usually get their act together for conference play.

My stab at it...

1.) Villanova - Undefeated is undefeated. They are at the top until someone finds a way to knock them off.
2.) St. John's - Johnnies seem to have figured out how to marshal their talent. Nice wins against Minnesota, St. Mary's and Cuse on the road. Only loss to #8 Gonzaga.
3.) Georgetown - They have had maybe the toughest non-conference schedule of the group. The fact that they played top 10 teams Wisconsin and Kansas close with no bad losses puts them at three.
4.) Providence - The Boston College and Brown games were not good for the Friars. But they have the talent and it showed in wins against Notre Dame and Miami.
5.) Butler - Butler has some nice wins on the resume but I'm not entirely sold. A team good enough to beat UNC and Georgetown should also beat Tennessee and Indiana. But those are not bad losses so I keep them in the top half.
6.) Seton Hall - The record looks good, but they have not really beat anyone. When your best win is George Washington and you are not even in the two big resume games it might be an issue. Youth is tough in this league.
7.) Xavier - They have been up and down a bit. Hard to read where this team is
8.) Marquette - Although I have the Eagles here, their newest addition might be what the doctor ordered for the Quette. They might become very dangerous.
9.) Creighton - They are rebuilding and it is starting to show.
10.) DePaul - I had high hope for the Blue Demons early on, but they have settled back into the cellar.

Hard to argue with this list at this point... Positions 1, 2 & 10 are unquestioned locks in those spots IMO. 3 through 9 are shades of gray but I think you're more accurate than not. Well done and well thought out.

At least for my Friars, the teams that scare me at Nova (duh), Georgetown and Xavier. The teams PC has struggled with have size and talent inside to match PC's length. St. John's has played great and has the best guard pair in the league, but I think they're going to run into some trouble when they have to face teams like those three and PC with all their long arms and big bodies. Overall though they should still comfortably make the Dance and be a top-half team.

SHU is my wild card. All the talent you could ask for, but I am still not sold on Willard.

Butler is my overrated team. When they started the year I actually felt they were underrated when many thought of them as a bottom-feeder in the league, but since that UNC win it feels like most see them as one of the better teams in the league. I see them more in the 5-7 range still, not 3-5. They rebound, they play hard, but they also play dumb and are very inefficient shooting the ball when I have seen them.

This is a good list. I must admit although I've been amused at Lavin and St John's struggles previously, I actually am glad they're playing so well. We do need the program to step it up to bolster the Big East. It would be great to see them make a strong return to the post season. I am very excited heading into conference play as PC has righted the ship after their two bad losses (and 3 in a row). 4 strong performances heading into conf play and 10-3, RPI in the mid 20s is right where we need to be. Marquette scares me as I think the addition of the big man transfer has changed them completely. Will be interesting to see if the Hall is for real.I think they might be. Either way I think 4-5 are the number that make the tourney hopefully 5.
