Would be nice. When's the last time SHU and SJU played head to head while both ranked? Has it ever happened?

San Diego St not a guarantee to be out by any stretch.

Would think Colorado St and TCU may get in with undefeated records. Northern Iowa if they can beat Iowa could creep back in there. VCU may as well..

Don't see Georgetown with such a close game today getting in. Seton Hall is possible I suppose.

Colorado St should be in undefeated and a quality win @ Colorado. TCU meh sure they beat Ole Miss which Crieghton couldn't but I don't think they've proven it, but likely in despite that in the AP, but not Coaches. No way on VCU they barely received any votes last week. Northern Iowa maybe, but they just fell out of the polls so it would be unusual for them to bounce right back in. Baylor is likely in as they were the last team out.

By no means a lock the Hoyas get in, but they have a good chance especially in the Coaches where they're 4th out. Doubt we get in the AP. Probably first team out in both polls with a chance to move in with a win over Indiana.

So Close. Hoyas 26th in both polls.

Seton Hall 38th AP/ 34th Coaches
Butler 39th AP/ T-40th Coaches

St. John's 17th AP/19 Coaches
Villanova 7th in both polls

As long as the Hoyas can win vs. Indiana they'll be in the Polls. 3rd times' the charm hopefully for getting into the polls.

The 3 big names on I-95 being ranked is a good thing for the conference.

Hoyas really need to beat Indiana. Close losses to very good teams do t count towards your resume and Florida is a good win but not a great one as of now. Would love to see 3 ranked teams going into Big East play.

Not the best week but not a bad one either. Just some missed opportunities. We are now in the last week of OOC play, aside from a few games in January/February after Big East play starts.

NOTE: + means they gained spots from the prior week (for example- SJU was #20 last week and #17 this week in the AP so they are +3)

****After this week I will begin to look at Big East play, but for now I'm just focusing on OOC play****

#39 AP (-16)/ #41 CP (-16) Butler- won't be ranked prior to conference play. Dropped out of the rankings after a disappointing couple games, but at least won last night. Win vs. Belmont on Sunday to wrap up a solid OOC.
Creighton- *finished OOC* won't be ranked prior to conference play. Officially done with OOC schedule at 9-4. Poor finish but not bad OOC considering their expectations.
DePaul- won't be ranked prior to conference play. One more game, today vs. Ohio. Really awful finish, currently 6-5 need to hope they lose a lot in Big East play.
#26 AP (+4)/ #26 CP (+3) Georgetown- just missed it this week, but a win in their final OOC game vs. Indiana on Saturday would get them ranked. Really need to win that one to have a good OOC.
Marquette- won't be ranked prior to conference play. Good win yesterday, really need to win final game vs. Morgan State which shouldn't be an issue.
Providence- *finished OOC* won't be ranked prior to conference play. Finished strong last night with a win vs. Miami. Good OOC final record at 10-3. Strong 4 game winning streak after a bad 3 game losing streak.
#38 AP (-5)/ #34 (-2) CP Seton Hall- won't be ranked prior to conference play. Surprised they didn't drop further after losing @ Georgia. Need to finish strong vs. Maine.
Xavier- won't be ranked prior to conference play. Tough loss vs. Auburn but winning the final two games (one @ Cincy in February) would help.

And the teams that need to worry about hanging on.... (already in the top 25)

#17 AP (+3)/ #19 CP (+4) St. John's- excellent playing and still only have one loss vs. #8 Gonzaga. Another win over a very solid mid-major last night (Long Beach State). Game vs. a solid Tulane team on Sunday. If they lose that game, I still think they'll be ranked next Monday at around #24. Game vs. #2 Duke in January.
#7 AP (-)/ #7 CP (-) Villanova-once again didn't gain any spots last weeks despite a great week. Vs. Syracuse tomorrow, need to win to ensure a top 10 ranking on Monday and possibly top 5. A win vs. NJIT will guarantee a top 10 ranking heading into BE play. Lose and they'll drop into the early teens most likely. Still have a game @ Penn in January.

For Monday (still depends on outcome of games of course)...

Best case scenario:
Vilanova (#5), St. John's (#14), and Georgetown (#21) ranked.
Worst case scenario:
Vilanova (#14) ranked. (and I'd guess SJU too even if they lose, but no guarantee so can't say it's worst case)
Most likely scenario:
Vilanova (#6), St. John's (#14), and Georgetown (#23) ranked.

Let's finish strong! Should be 2 or 3 ranked teams heading into Big East play. Hopefully 3. Need 2.

It will be interesting to see if Georgetown gets ranked. Definitely more worthy than TCU and Colorado State but no one in front of Georgetown lost.

Awesome week, we're basically done now with OOC with a few January/February games remaining.

Win vs. Belmont tonight to wrap up a solid OOC.
Creighton- *finished OOC* won't be ranked prior to conference play. Officially done with OOC schedule at 9-4. Poor finish but not bad OOC considering their expectations.
DePaul-*finished OOC* won't be ranked prior to conference play. Awful games this week in their tournament. Finished 6-7 on a 6 game losing streak.
#26 AP (+4)/ #26 CP (+3) Georgetown- *finished OOC* huge win vs. Indiana yesterday, but not guaranteed to be ranked tomorrow since nobody ahead of them lost. I still think they'll be ranked since it was an impressive opponent they beat.
Marquette- *finished OOC* won't be ranked prior to conference play. Good week and finish to OOC. 8-4.
Providence- *finished OOC* won't be ranked prior to conference play. Finished strong this week with a win vs. Miami. Good OOC final record at 10-3. Strong 4 game winning streak after a bad 3 game losing streak.
#38 AP (-5)/ #34 (-2) CP Seton Hall- *finished OOC* won't be ranked prior to conference play. Won vs. Maine to finish with a strong 10-2 OOC record.
Xavier- won't be ranked prior to conference play. Solid win today to get to 9-3. Final OOC game @ Cincy in February.

And the teams that need to worry about hanging on.... (already in the top 25)

#17 AP (+3)/ #19 CP (+4) St. John's- excellent playing and still only have one loss vs. #8 Gonzaga. Another strong week with two solid wins. Most of the teams ahead of them only had 1 game and three team lost, so they should be top 15 tomorrow. Final OOC game vs. #2 Duke in January.
#7 AP (-)/ #7 CP (-) Villanova- incredible performance by Nova as one of only 6 remaining undefeated teams. One more OOC game @ Penn in January.

For tomorrow...

Best case scenario:
Vilanova (#6), St. John's (#12), and Georgetown (#23) ranked.
Worst case scenario:
Vilanova (#7) and St. John's (#16) ranked.
Most likely scenario:
Vilanova (#6), St. John's (#14), and Georgetown (#25) ranked.

Awesome job BE! Getting my wish of 2-3 teams ranked heading into conference play, and one of them will be SJU.

Yeah I'm worried. I don't trust the voters at all because they're morons. It's clearly the right thing to rank Georgetown, but I don't trust them to do the right thing at all. Would be huge to have 3 ranked teams going into conference play.

Wait, the "right thing" is having Georgetown ranked? I think it is the "right thing" to have Creighton ranked, but that doesn't mean they deserve to be.
I mean you want the voters to jump Georgetown over teams that didn't lose this week that they had above Georgetown in the first place?
