Yeah, they weren't. Butler basically lead all game.

There is no justification for your opinion, but you don't exactly have to have one. No one cares if its irrational or not, its your opinion.

1.Nova - Deep, talented, and unselfish. Look like a final four contender so far
2.Butler - Great defensive team that fights for rebounds
3.Georgetown - The freshmen are playing great and will only get better as the season goes on
4. St Johns - Thin up front but have the best backcourt in the big east in my opinion
5. Xavier - Having one of the best offenses in the country helps cover up their bad defense
6. Seton Hall - Wanted to put them higher I want to see how they fair against Wichita. Certainly look like a tournament team
7. Creighton
8. Providence - Would have been higher last week. Played with no energy against Brown but i think they can turn things around
9. Depaul - Garret, Henry, Hamiltion, and Crockett are all great players. I think Depaul has the talent to make the tournament this year
10. Marquette - Rebuilding year but i think with Fischer back this Marquette team will finish the OOC schedule undefeated and be a tough team in conference play
All in all this is a incredibly deep league and there will be no easy games when conference play starts up

Ill throw my hat in the ring

I'm a Georgetown fan but if this is rankings so far... Butler deserves respect. I'm going strictly wins and losses so far not how I believe each team will finish.

Villanova
Butler
Georgetown
St. John's
Seton Hall-Undefeated is Undefeated
Creighton
Providence
Xavier-Biggest win Alabama
DePaul-quietly have been respectable and winning by a nice margin
Marquette

Not that I really disagree with DePaul at 10th, but an argument could be made that they should be elsewhere. The Omaha (208) loss is worse than the Lehigh (203) loss, and DePaul has a better win (Stanford).

No doubt this week has a chance to change people's opinion of DePaul. If they beat GW and Illinois State, might be in line for 8th in the power rankings.

There's plenty of justification. 1) I'm a homer. 2) I'm doing my power ratings on how I think things shake out at the end of the year based on how good I think the teams have shown themselves to be based on their performance. So even though they officially lost to wisconsin that game said a lot about the Hoyas. 3) Many computer systems have Georgetown rated higher than butler including kenpom and sagarin. Others have butler rated higher, but that doesn't mean my view that the Hoyas are better has no justification.

I though we were going to win up until 30 seconds left. The kenpom win probabilty shows the the Hoyas were the more likely team to win the game about 20 minutes of the game while Butler was for the other half and of course they were most likely in the final 5 minutes of the game which is what ultimately matters, but the game was even through out even though the Hoyas weren't putting forth much effort. I think we have more talent, but weren't mentally in the game after the Wisconsin game was stolen by an over the back offensive goal tending that went uncalled. If the teams had both won and were playing for the championship, or if we had gotten blown out by wisconsin like you got blown out by Oklahoma then I think the game would've gone differently, as it was the Hoyas heads and hearts weren't in the game the way it should've been in order to beat a good team like Butler.

Spot on!

Heck, just take a look at his earlier and latest posts.

Here's a quote from his earlier post: "I thought we were better than Butler for most of the game and made some freshman mistakes that lead to the loss, the team has improved since then and will continue to get better through out the year."

Georgetown may very, well be a better team since their game versus Butler. But what is it based on? Beating up on Towson?? Because that is the only game they've played since losing to Butler.

Edrick, get use to the uberous homerism and nonsense.

Will probably have to move Marquette up with the addition of Fischer

Marquette looks like a completely different team with Fischer.

Here's how I'd rank them

1 Nova
2 St. Johns
3 Butler
4 Georgetown
5 X
6 S.H.
7 Marquette
8 Prov
9 Creighton
10 Depaul
